The new season of Saving Grace begins tonight!

Tonight (Tuesday, July 14th, 2008), Saving Grace returns on TNT (right after the season premiere of The Closer). Looks great in HD on the TNT-HD channel.

Holly Hunter is remarkable as a tough, quirky, booze-guzzling, promiscuous, profane Oklahoma City police officer whose life is invaded by an atypical angel (the always enjoyable Leon Rippy). If you have not been watching because of the angel angle, please give it a shot. This sure isn’t your usual sappy angel show.

Surprised no one else has replied, especially to a thread started by the venerable Pink.

So I’ll go… I watched it. I thought the plotting was interesting. There was enough misdirection

so that we’re still not sure who killed Father Macarthy (?)

There was quite a bit of interesting “will she?”, “won’t she?” in it.

I wish that Earl was in it more, though. He didn’t seem to play much of a role in this episode other than a few quick cameos.

All in all, a good, but not great, season opener.

I do like this series, and I’ve got a season pass set up for it.
