At the end of the film “The Newton Boys”, a clip is shown of one of the real boys when he was on “The Tonight Show.” In the clip, he give 4 rules for living. Can anyone tell me what those four rules are?
Hmmmm, looks like this is a stumper. Has anyone seen this movie?
Guy, are you sure you have the right movie?
The Newton Boys was set in the 1920’s…I find it hard to fathom any of them were on the Tonight Show. (But I haven’t seen the film)
Or do you mean the ACTOR was on the Tonight Show?
I saw the movie, and the Carson clip during the credits was of the actual Newton (I don’t remember which one). He looked like he was about a hundred years old.
I take that back, I jumped too soon.
Joe Newton was on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1980.
I can’t tell you what the exact words were, but I know the Newton code consisted partly of: Don’t Kill, Don’t rat, and Respect Women and Children.
Not what you’d expect from your typical outlaw, but perhaps the Newton boys lived to be 80 for a reason.
Unfortunately, the only movie quotes I’ve been able to find are: Joe, “It’s colder than a day-old Dumpling!”; and Willis, “What’s a fella to do in Omaha?” Louise, “Well, he could chew gum.”
I’m sure those are much funnier in the films context.
Sorry I cannot be more help!
Yeah, somebody told me that there were four rules listed, but only on the original video release. If you get a copy now, it cuts the clip short at two rules. I’m beginning to think my acquaintance is high.
