The next 10 tunes on your iPod.

Oh, that’s important – the version in The Freewheeling Bob Dylan is the best one, IMO. Nothing else (or any other musician’s cover of the song) will do.

  1. Belanova - One, Two, Three, GO!
  2. Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down
  3. Ram Jam - Black Betty
  4. Peggy Lee - Fever
  5. Squeeze - Cool for Cats
  6. Mates of State - Jellyman Kelly
  7. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Midnight Man
  8. INXS - Never Tear Us Apart
  9. Muse - Time Is Running Out
  10. The Pogues - Fairytale of New York
  1. “Judas Cradle” - Sugar

  8. “Aenema” - Tool
  9. “MM17” - Bob Mould
  10. “Probably Not My Type” - Augean Stables

So, yeah, I’m sensing a pattern there… I’ve got over a thousand songs loaded but my Bob Mould fandom (also in Sugar) shines through even on a random assortment.

Most of my rock isn’t on my iPhone (which I use as my iPod), as I tend to use Pandora for popular music, so I’ve got my 24 mix CDs (which I’m very particular about not reusing songs and having variety…that’s where most of the popular music is), a few classic albums and a ton of classical and musicals, plus kids music for my daughter when we’re in the car. All told, I have about 1600 songs on my iPhone.

Here are my 10.
