Another good episode. But are they gonna spend the whole show in latin America?
Per the OP, yes, until they finish in the U.S.
Yeah, it’s because this episode was actually filmed in 2022 and there were still some Covid protocols in place. That’s why there’s no airport racing, they just start each episode in the new city.
It’s a shame because the Spanish speaking racers have had a substantial advantage for every leg.
Sadly, the firefighters- who always do great in the contests but always get lost- got lost again.
I want the Bickersons out!
Man, those were some ugly welds, but they held up. That was a nice change up on the tasks. No dancing or entertainment performance tasks. Well, wait a minute…
BTW, if it wasn’t a race I think Ricky & Cesar would still be there singing and dancing.
I want her to say “Fuck you Jack, I’m walking out your door”. And then do it.
That task was like made for that pair.
Yep. but her whining isnt helping.
Kind of a harsh Philimination last night. It wasn’t the team’s fault that their chase crew didn’t follow them correctly. It also seemed like they lost radio contact with them, so their message to meet at the next Detour wasn’t heard. I wonder who finally did get in contact with them, and how.
It was interesting to see them lift the veil on the Race, as it were. We all know that there must be camera/sound crews following each team, but I don’t remember that being explicitly acknowledged on the show before.
Danny and Angie 's exit interview said that their crew got lost on the way to the detour. they had to wait 1.5 hours at the detour before the producers gave them another crew and they resumed the race. Their crew finally showed up 2 hours latee.
I got to think that TPTB will give them a spot in a future race
They were one of our fave scrappy underdog teams. Danny had an uncanny navigating skill.
Now my wife and I agree Ricky & Cesar- but are split on Military pilots or Rod & Leticia are our faves. We are hoping the Bickersons (Amber and Vinny) go soon.
Their crew never showed up.
I am not sure why they were penalized for a mistake by the crew. Seems wrong to me.
And so when we get to our next location, we’re there and the crew never shows up. You see in the clip, like, ‘Oh, our crew has arrived.’ Our crew didn’t arrive. They grabbed another crew that was there because our crew was still lost.
I had the vague impression that maybe–maybe–the reason the crew lost them was that Angie was suddenly and impulsively changing lanes within the roundabout because she wasn’t sure which exit to take. Certainly the other cars were honking at her a lot, suggesting that she was doing something erratic in there. If the crew car wasn’t able to keep up with the lane changes, they may have ended up in a turn-off lane that they couldn’t get out of.
I’m not sure if that completely absolves the crew–it’s their job to follow the racers wherever they go–if the confusion was caused by Angie driving in an unexpected manner, she might be considered partially to blame.
I’m sure that is why the crew lost them but what I can’t figure out is why it then took the crew 2 hours to arrive at the next location? Something is missing there. Surely the crew either knows in advance where they have to go or can radio production for directions.
I get Angie was being erratic in her driving but it should not be too hard to follow her and, even if you get separated, it should not be too hard to get back on track for the crew. They had radio communication. Radio the contestants and tell them to pull over where they can and give their street location so they can all hook-up again. Doesn’t seem too hard.
If nothing else, go to the next challenge. You’d think the crew driver would have no problem getting there and would not be more than a few minutes behind at most. How lost can they get?
I’d be willing to bet Angie and Danny will be invited back for another season.
From what I read- they effectively never did- They just gave the team a new crew- after two hours. It is likely in the rules they agree to- but it does seem unfair especially for these scrappy underdogs.
Aren’t the crew usually in the same car with the racers? That’s why the navigator sits directly behind the driver - the camera operator is in the front seat filming both of them, and the sound tech is in the back seat. But for some reason in Barbados they wanted to put the racers in those small jeeps & had to put the crew in another vehicle - notice that on this leg the navigator was sitting next to the driver, not behind them.
Especially since the island is only 21 miles long. How can you get lost for 2 hours? Why wasn’t anyone else from production talking to the lost crew? Presumably the crew is allowed to use GPS & navigation apps, how on Earth did they disappear?
More than two hours- the team was given a new crew.
IIRC I read somewhere that the drivers are hired locals who presumably know the area well.
So, about a month late, I finally got around to watching the last two episodes on my DVR. I’m still baffled by the whole Danny & Angie thing, and would like to know what happened with the support team that (a) lost radio contact and (b) took two hours to find their way to the checkpoint. Hopefully some day we’ll find out the whole story.
Glad to see the boyfriends win, they pretty much ruled this race from the start, except for that sailboard task.
Also glad to see Vinnie and Amber get Philiminated before the final three. I was so sick of both of them by that point. The proposal on the mat came as absolutely no surprise. My wife asked if that had ever happened before, and I said yes, several years ago. And that guy was abusive throughout the entire race too, IIRC.
Yeah, that marriage will be short, methinks.
