jim knew that andy was screwy when in stamford he put andy’s stuff in jello and andy had a freakout - kicking the trashcan. the big prank was hiding his phone in the ceiling which led to punching the wall which led to anger management.
I’ve really, really enjoyed each episode this season. Last year, and even a little before, it hardly ever made me laugh, and I only kept watching because I still kinda enjoyed hanging out in the show’s universe. I don’t know what it is, but I think they’ve gotten a massive shot in the arm this year*. Extremely funny stuff.
“Did you write this?!”
–> And I know it’s not just me because I have a control group. 30 Rock was also more “pleasant” than “funny” last year, and is again this season.
Wasn’t it Andy who mentioned it in one of the confessionals? “The company is sending me to management classes now, which is great. Well… anger management classes.” Then he came back and wanted everyone to call him Drew.
Also, Toby doesn’t exactly love Jim - there was the episode when Jim was getting a review or something, and Michael mentioned the complaints about him screwing around at the front desk in his personnel file - which we learned were filed by Toby, who was jealous of Jim’s relationship with Pam.
Eventually Andy, overcome with rage, punches a hole in the office wall. It is revealed in the producers cut of the episode that Andy was subsequently sent to a 10 week long anger management camp. Andy plans to be done with this in just five weeks by using “name repetition, personality mirroring and positive reinforcement through nods and smiles,” the same skills he implemented to rise to success in the Scranton office.
Ryan’s Ipad clock didn’t have any way of telling where 12 o’clock was. How do you know which why to hold it to tell the correct time? I thought that would be part of the joke, not Kelly not knowing how to read analog clocks.
I would agree. While **fusoya **makes some good points, they also show significant moments of compassion and support for their coworkers at times.
Jim and Pam are supposed to be the characters the audience relates most closely with. They are supposed to be a typical middle class American couple, struggling with having to work a job they don’t particularly care for and tolerating a bunch of over the top coworkers who are out of their mind.
In real life, people who grow out of their jobs typically leave and aren’t seen again. If Jim were super motivated or Pam were mega talented, they wouldn’t stay at some sattelite sales office of Dunder Miflin Sabre and we’d be left with an office full of freaks and weirdos.
It’s sort of like how they couldn’t keep Ryan as the ambitious business student who becomes the youngest VP in the company. They had to turn him into a giant hipster douche who fails so he can go back to Scranton.
I do get sick of Michael and his narcissistic behavior though.
