The Office - 4/11 - Stairmageddon

The Jim and Pam story was good. Stanley’s Story SUCKED!!!

I want to see where Andy’s going.

I enjoyed the Stanley story – yes it was ridiculous and over-the-top, but it was in character for Dwight and had some great moments. The multiple darts to the chest, the evil kneival helmet into the wall, Dwight referring to Stanley like a cow carcass, Stanley’s silliness during the client meeting… totally unrealistic that they’d try to go ahead with the meeting, but it was a lot of fun anyways.

The part that bothered me most is Stanley stuck himself with a dart. That was really ridiculous and over-the-top.

Andy’s story arc looks like it’s the same as David Brent’s; going into show business after having appeared in the paper company documentary.

Yeah, I was reminded of that too.

One difference is that as I remember, David Brent was presented as untalented, but Andy Bernard/Ed Helms does have some musical ability.

Well, I wouldn’t want to climb stair mountain either!

I enjoyed the Senator’s press conference.

Eh, from what I remember, Brent did have SOME musical ability. He played guitar. Wasn’t he in a band at one point?

He should have just gone home.

Brent was in the band Foregone Conclusion.

Good thing no one at DM is handicapped or had injuries requiring a wheelchair/crutches or anything.

I’m surprised Kevin wasn’t more pissed about the stairs than Stanley. Remember how upset he was about having to park a block away?

The Senator’s chief of staff/lover was played by the same guy that was the interpreter on the recent season of The Joe Schmo Show.

Also, that was Paul Feig with the dog-cat-mouse act.

I kept waiting for Angela to break and drop an F-bomb.

It’s also very Stanley.

The Stanley story was an amusing, if silly diversion.

The dog/cat/mouse thing was funny. “I don’t name the mice…they’re basically cannon fodder.”
Jim definitely had a valid point. Pam’s mad that he makes decisions without her but if he didn’t make the decisions, she’d probably still be engaged to Roy.

Just the sight of the mouse sitting on the cat sitting on the dog absolutely slays me for some reason… one of my favorite sight gags ever.

I thought the Stanley story was good, didn’t find anything else funny.

I thought it was the funniest of the season, but that is not saying much.

It doesn’t look like any of the other tenants complained either. You’d think Bob Vance of Vance Refridgeration would say something.

Not the Stanley in my head. If you enjoyed it that’s kickass. I just don’t like the show getting too “cartoony”. It seems weird to me… in contrast to the Jim and Pam storyline.

I agree but there are only like five more episodes ever so the show really is ending at the right time if not dragged out too long.

The “right time” was about 5 years ago.
