And Jim looking expectantly at Michael, then saying “Really? Nothing?”
That was my favorite bit, too.

“Zip-lining”?
Holly has some knowledge, she was there when the Youtube video of him getting marched out of the office was getting passed around the office.
No doubt hearing about PB&J’s engagement will cheer up Toby immensely in his hospital bed.
After Phyllis yelled at Dwight for her 5-mile walk, she then picked up the phone to call someone (I think the last name was Wallace).
Were we supposed to know who she was calling?
That was David Wallace up at corporate in New York City.
He’s the CFO of Dunder Mifflin. He appears on show every now and then.
edit.
Beat! Or should I say beet?
Nitpick…
The Breakers in Newport, RI, is an old summer mansion built by a member of the Vanderbilt family back in the late 1800s.
It’s not a resort. You can’t even stay overnight there.
It’s now owned and maintained by the Newport Preservation Society. They rent it out for functions (like weddings), and open it to the public for tours.
It’s absolutely breathtaking, BTW.
Hence the corporate-mandated sensitivity training, and admonitions against “extreme weight loss techniques,” in the scene that followed when they came back from commercial break.
One of the things that I like about this show, is how far in advance they have worked things out, and how well it fits together over that distance. Remember when Dwight had finally lost it and demanded Jim be fired and they had their little meeting where Michael read all of Dwight’s complaints about Jim? One of the complaints was that Dwight had answered the phone and smacked himself in the head. This was followed by a cutscene where Jim explained what he did to make that happen using nickels and time.
Now go back to the very first episode in the series, when the camera focuses on Dwight unlocking his desk when he first gets in to work. He takes out the phone receiver and hooks it up. Only if you watched through these shows again would you pick up on the real reason why Dwight was doing this every day.
Not much to add here except I see a lot of people refering to the character as Michael Kumpf. I think it’s Klump, like those stupid Eddie Murphy nutty professor movies. the really fat family are the Klumps which is 90% Eddie Murphy in a fat suit.
I liked Jim’s pledge to Michael that he would like to lose 65 lbs.
Is there really no new Office tonight? What a bummer.

nope. blame the debate.

So true. Like when Jim hired the stripper who was in the bachelor party episode to be the “nurse” who appears in “Fun Run”. Michael complements her for her apparent achievements.
It’s also a show that isn’t afraid of change. I love how gradually Pam has changed throughout the span show. She’s really changed. She’s cheerful and happy. It’s so rare that you see TV shows that aren’t afraid to change there formula so freely. I’m sure there was some anxiety upstairs when the writers decided not to milk Pam and Jim getting together anymore. People watched just to get an glimpse of evidence that they would eventually get to see them together.
BTW, I’m all for Pam being ambitious/self-assured…
I still kind of find Pam’s more “modest” persona more attractive in many ways. I guess in the same way Kevin REALLY liked her glasses.
1,000-year-old church in the continental U.S.
Does an Anasazi kiva count?
I like Holly; her gothy black nail polish pushes her over the line into “hot.”
I didn’t care for it.
They are clearly setting up Pam to start having an affaire at school as soon as she realizes what a simple douche Jim really is.
The whole Ryan coming back to Dundar Mifflin is preposterous.
Michale Scott tearing up the Counting Crows tickets was beyond stupid.
Andy and Angelie is becoming unbearable. I mean why does every guy in the show have to be a pathetic loser?
A couple funny moments though:
“…you think I’m retarded?”
“Michael seems to be really hitting it with Holly and I just figured out why…Holly is a HUGE dork.”
“I plan to lose 65 pounds.”
They are clearly setting up Pam to start having an affaire at school as soon as she realizes what a simple douche Jim really is.
If this were to happen I think a large number of people would stop watching. Turning one of your most beloved main characters into an ass hole over something so stupid would kill the fun of the show. I don’t think the Office writers are that stupid.

It’s not clear at all. First of all, her program is half over; there isn’t time for her to have an “affaire.” And I don’t think there wan anything in the episode that made Jim look like a “simple douche.”
Michale Scott tearing up the Counting Crows tickets was beyond stupid.
Well, “Michale” often is beyond stupid.
