The Office (15 May 08) [Spoilers]

My favorite line: Kevin says, “We can go have . . . pie

Made me think of the Dope.

Mmmmm. . . Pie.

The ending… woah!!! Andy is going to be pissed.

First Dwight took his car and now his woman.

PERFECT episode! What a way to end the season.

My GF and I had the same expression on our faces that Dwight did at the last scene!

OK, I’ve been a pretty big nay-sayer all season, but this was a pretty good episode. I laughed several times.

I didn’t see any of that coming. The stuff with Kevin was brilliant.

Anyone know if Amy Ryan is going to be a regular?

Youtube is being difficult atm, is Ryans arrest video up?

Man, Jan is a BIIIIITTTTCCCCCHHH!!! What a shitty thing to do to a guy. I think that would even be more hard to take than being cheated on.

Loved seeing Ryan get perp walked out of corporate HQ. That whole thing with the double entries into the website was kind of elgraphed but it was still satisfying to see.

Loved Amy Ryan thinking Kevin was “special” (even though that subplot was kind of a steal from a Seinfeld episode).

The interplay between Michael and Amy Ryan reminded me of the UK Christmas episode in how he was able to tone himself down, not be such a tool, actually make a couple of mildly funny quips, etc. I would like to see the show let Michael have a semi-functional relationship with someone who can tease out the genuine, decent, funny guy who’s lurking there underneath all that seething insecurityand desperation.

I was really glad there was no “Jam” proposal. I was afraid of a lot of treacly sentiment.

All in all, that was really a pretty good finale. Not everything worked, but I think theseason went out on a good note.

Oh Michael, WHY are going going to Jan’s lamaze classes with her? So desperate to have a family, it’s sad. I wanted him to just reject her, because his feelings for Holly have made him realize what it’s like to be treated nicely. She did seem to bring out the best in him, which was nice to see. And Holly I think really likes him back. Are they going to replace the Jim/Pam covert crush with an ongoing, painful, unspoken-except-to-the-camera Michael/Holly crush?

At first, I thought that Phyllis was walking in on Holly and Kevin. Thank god I was wrong.

Ryan is incarcerated for his website shenanigans. Yes! That was very satisfying. However, poor Jim didn’t get to propose. Pam did not seem pleased, and I bet now she’s going to go off to Pratt unengaged, which will lead to problems. Also, I see another opening for Jim in corporate… and a job offer for Pam in NYC next season. Could they leave the show?

Creed’s job, which he finished months ago, is apparently quabity control.

Yeah, Angela and Dwight . . . yowza!

I still think it’s hilarious that Kevin’s playing the ‘special’ card to the hilt, and he doesn’t even know what’s going on.

So, who do y’all think’s going to fill Ryan’s position?

I guess Jim would be the most obvious choice to replace Ryan from within the Scranton branch. Stanly and Oscar could be dark horses (although I think Stanley would probably fire Michael immediately).

They could also go outside of Scranton and basically just get a new cast member.

I was wondering if Kevin knew that she thought he was “special” but I think not. And Michael was an idiot for turning down the new HR woman. She was clearly interested (the offer to go out for dessert told us so). And while I know that Jim felt that he couldn’t propose since Andy stole his thunder, Pam was so disappointed. (And it does drag out that storyline another season.)

She did a fine job, but the first thing I thought when I saw her was, “Oh, Beadie Russell is leaving Baltimore for Scranton!”

Holly thinking Kevin was retarded was a sublime piece of comedy. From the bit with the M&Ms to Holly announcing that she’s going to buckle him in, it was just pure gold.

For a minute there, I thought that Toby would hear the kind words Pam said about him, he’d find an excuse to stay, and then Angela would turn down Andy, who would then leave in disgrace.

It was kinda strange how Jim left that confrontational voice-mail message for Ryan. Maybe the writers had planned that speech a while ago and had to shoehorn it in before Ryan got busted. Or maybe they just wanted to fake us out, as we knew some big stuff was going to go down in this episode. Either way, it was a decent way of showing us Jim’s growing passion for his work.

After twelve years of hating Toby, the meanest gag gift Michael could think up was a rock with a “suck on this” note taped to it (admit it: you thought there’d be poo in there, didn’t you?). The more I think about it, the funnier it gets.

An all-around great episode.

Actually it’s quabbity ashoobance.

Loved the Episode but missed the last shot before credits What happened?!?!?!?!

Phyllis walked in the office building after Toby’s going-away party. As she passed the elevator, she heard moaning, grunting and a soft steady thump that only a desk makes when there’s some sexxing going on. She opens the Dunder-Mifflin door only to find Angela getting it on with her beau: DWIGHT.

Dwight’s look of shock was absolutely priceless by the way.

All in all a good episode. I feel bad for Jim not being able to propose because of that idiot Andy. Also I’m so sick of Jan and Michael drama. I’m pretty sure Michael Scott, not Kevin is the one who is mentally retarted.

I guess next season’s story lines will consist of:

Michael, Jan and the new HR girl

Angela Dwight and Andy

Jim’s ongoing attempts to propose to Pam

Pam in New York

Possibly Jim in New York

I assume Michael was thinking of “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” when he was talking about the antigravity potion. Too bad there’s no such thing.

I gasped out loud when I saw Jan’s baby bump. I was almost as surprised by the sperm bank explanation.

I loved Kelly talking about visiting Ryan in prison, and Oscar’s explanation of Ryan’s crime, and his opinion that the beard was a worse crime.

A funny line I almost missed: when Dwight, Meredith and Mose put the raccoon in Holly’s car, and Dwight said that it wasn’t rabid, Meredith answered “Thanks for bringing that up.”

YES! And then after a beat… he tells Meredith to get the raccoon out. I assume this is because she’s already had rabies.

I usually think the hour long episodes are rather bloated and unfunny, but this one stayed really sharp throughout.

I loved the Kevin story line. When Holly counts his money for him - “No, this is a button.”

Creed trying to remember what he does at DM.

Ryan getting perp-walked out of headquarters.

Michael showing some restraint for once. “That’s what she… nevermind.”

I was shocked about Jan’s baby bump too. I’d heard that there would be a pregnancy, but I thought they were just going to work in Angela Martin’s real life situation into the finale. When Kevin brings Michael to the store, at first I was just thinking how dumb and clueless Kevin was. And then he goes “I think you two have something to talk about.” and then the reveal… I was shocked.

“Hello Muta, tell Fata I’m getting married”
I loved the episode. Michael was pathetic, I even felt sorry for him, especially how hurt he was to find out he was not the father, and worse than that, it wasn’t an affair but her just not wanting his sperm. Ouch.

I flip back and forth with Toby and am not sure how I feel. His crush on Pam comes across as creepy, but the constant disapointment he suffers makes me feel bad for the guy. When his only joy is a few pictures with Him and Pam together he must have one hell of a miserable life.

Have we ever found out what he did exactly to get Michael to hate him so much or is it just that he is considered just a kiljoy?

Andy is a tool. Inviting his parents means he was obviously ready to propose that night and it wasn’t spur of the moment. Still I’m not sure he deserves the big disapointment
he’s in for. Hope the anger management courses keep him from going on a Rampage. (Does Dwight still have his pepper spray?)

Ah Ryan in jail… much better than demotion I really hated that guy. “Congradulations on doing your job” What a jerk. So I guess the Spin off will be Ryan’s prison adventures.
