Michael goes to Nashua tonight. We get to see Holly again.
Five minutes in and BAM, Michael gets his heart crushed again.
Wow, that scene in Nashua with Michael trying to speak and interrogating AJ was so awkward it had me squirming.
Pam doing Michael’s material is possibly even worse. Dear God.
So was Pam lying about Holly having feelings for Michael, or not?
I didn’t like that Pam didn’t improvise rather than going with Michael’s stuff. She’s not a salesperson, but surely she could come up with something that’s better than what he did. Michael had some good moments though, which is rare. Apologizing to the fat person at the end DID make me crack up, but I don’t think Michael would say that. No matter how insulting he can be, there’s hardly any, (and often not any), malice involved. Just ignorance. I can see where the writers wanted to remind the viewers that this WAS still Michael, only I didn’t think it was something he would say.
The Holly stuff was sweet. The show’s writers took advantage of the “to be continued” episode by making the audience feel as if they were going to see yet another familiar person, only to pull the rug out from under their feet. This, and the computer wallpaper, and Michael acknowledging right away that he couldn’t read her file. As if he told Pam just so she could talk him out of it. He even talked about destroying it. I liked that part. I hope Holly is at least a contender for being a permanent fixture on the show, rather then her making guest appearances her and there until the final episode. She brings out the best in Michael.
WOW as Angela!
I would think Kelly’s reaction to her gift may have fit if it were at least 2 hours, how often are these people actually working any given day anyway?
I think that she wasn’t lying, if only because she has to see how it could all come back to bite her if she tells Michael that he still has a chance with her when Holly is actually getting serious with her boyfriend.
Sorry for all the typo’s
Takes me a while to type out these things… I missed 30 Rock!
It often takes so long that other’s touch on things that I mention by the time I’m done, I apologize.
(yes, it took me 30 minutes to come up with THAT! I HATE that I’m forced to text people these days. like, I could never win any argument though texting!)
Anyway… This episode gets a B-.
I thought this episode was the funniest of the season!
Some great lines from:
Meredith - “I had my second kid for the vacation time.”
Creed - “I could get you a kid for 7 grand.”
Phylis - “There’s always a theme.”
Stanley - “I know, I just read it on the sign.”
Dwight - “You know what’s cooler than a triceratops? EVERY OTHER DINOSAUR THAT EVER LIVED!”
Oscar - “Plus, I’m pretty sure she coughed up a hairball.”
And did you see Dwight pat Kelly on the ass as she left the conference room? Such a weirdo.
I don’t know about that. Michael is openly hostile and malicious toward Toby, after all. The fact that Tony pretty much told Michael to his face that Michael was a crappy boss could make Michael dislike him enough to say what he said. Just my $0.02.
I agree that this was one of the best episodes this season
Wow, really? I have to agree with some of the other people here, I thought this episode was hilarious, and quite possibly the funniest of the season so far!
Just one guy’s opinion. I’m glad other people has enjoyed it. Like always, I’ll watch it again today. I’m still looking forward to watching it again.
I *did *think about Toby as I wrote that, but thought he was basically one exception.
Anyway, Angela with the cats. Wow. Even Kevin didn’t want to address it when she got back to work.
Where, oh where was Andy? Did he take off after getting shot down by the client? How will he take it when he learns that Angela sold his $7000 engagement ring to buy a cat? I see those anger-management classes wearing off . . .
Did Jim had to special-order a plain white cake?
It looked like Jim did the lettering on the cake himself.
“KELLEY”
Actually, she netted $7,000 from selling the engagement ring, so I assume he paid two or three times that amount for it, unless it was a family heirloom.
As for the birthday cake, supermarkets usually have plain cakes on display and then will decorate them to order, so I assume that’s where he got it. And Jim and Dwight really are the worst people to put in charge of the party planning committee, although no one should waste that much time during the workday planning parties of any sort.
lT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY
Does anyone expect Dwight to physically attack Jim one day?
I don’t know. Dwight may hate/dislike Jim, however he also got upset at Kelly for saying “screw you” to him because of his work stature. He also took Roy down. If this is the case, I don’t know if Dwight would ever attack Jim… UNLESS Dwight finds a way to justify in his head that he is, in fact, above Jim on the food chain, which wouldn’t be a stretch for him. It’s an interesting relationship the two have.
Didn’t he once grab Jim around the neck, (maybe giving him a noggy(sp)?
Jim and Dwight may annoy the hell out of each other but they also like each other on a few levels. The scene this week where they are sitting next to each other enjoying eating the cake after amazingly pulling off a successful party that Kelly loved is evidence of that. Dwight even complimented Jim on the cake.
Remember when Dwight got fired? As he left he gave Jim a big hug. After that Jim has a confessional where he uttered the best line in Office history.
Jim: “I miss Dwight. Congratulations, Universe, you win.”
Thank Goodness that there wasn’t a preview at the end of this weeks episode.
“I’m too excited to sleep!”
Dare I say that Jim and Dwight are like brothers that can fight constantly but still have each other’s back? Except Jim shouldn’t count too much on Dwight having his back unless it fits with the Shrute family code. And Dwight should count on Jim taping a “Kick Me” sign to his back.
Kevin: I was looking at pictures of food on my computer.
