The official "Charles in Charge" apreciation thread.

I just got done watching a CiC marathon and I must say that that was a quality sitcom that ended before its time. Scott Baio was a master of comic delivery. I hadn’t seen anything so exquisite since Vicki on Small Wonder said “SKEE BOOOORRR” when her nervo chip went hay wire. LOL! Awsome!

I wanted to start 2 seperate appreciation threads, one on CiC and one on Silver Spoons, but figured that one at a time would be best so each show could really get the praise it deserves. Ill be back to throw a shout out to SS later on.

So bring it people. CiC was, and is, the pinnacle of sitcom goodness. BRING IT!

It was a horrid pile of crap that was on far too long.

That one blonde girl was pretty fine, though.

Mmmmm . . . Gwendolyn Pierce . . .

I loved Josie Davis. (I like to believe I’m an intellectual!) But, DEAR GOD!, what’s with her hair now!

I loved that show, I think it may even have the greatest theme song ever!!

Have you heard the punk theme version by Reliant K? Its amazing!!

Willie Aames is a misunderstood genius.

I had a crush on Scott Baio & Willie Aames, they made a cute couple, I thought. That was the only reason I watch. The show was OK, not great.

Last I heard, Willie is doing Bible videos in Kansas, I don’t know what Scott is up to.

mmmm, Nicole Eggert…

And yeah, Willie Aames played (and perhaps still plays) that noble superhero, Bibleman. That is some goofy stuff right there.

Just in case someone’s searching for it, the band’s name is Relient K, like the old car. Check out the theme song if you haven’t heard it, it’s quite good.

I want Charles in Charge of me!

Anyone catch the “Nick at Nite” marathon last nite!

It was an ok song, but the theme song makes Charles sound like a brainwashing dictator

Charles in Charge
of our days and our nights
Charles in Charge
of our wrongs and our rights
I want
I want
I want
Charles in Charge of me!

Quite obviously Charles used mind control to dictate their behavior, strictly regulated what they could do in the course of a day, and brain-washed the children to like it!

My wife loves that show, but it tends to escape me.

Have all the Nicole Eggert you want, just send Josie Davis my way.

You are now destined to spend eternity in Hell for even trying to think of something remotely positive to say about the most utterly vile bag of refuse to ever find it’s way onto my television screen.

Mullinator, I will fight for Josie TO THE DEATH!!!

Mullinator,

Is Josie Davis the one who played the daughter before they changed kids? I checked out that link you posted and…WOW!! If that’s her, then she has really grown up well! I never would have guessed.

erictelevision, after your and Mullinator’s deathmatch, I fight the winner. :stuck_out_tongue:

Tangent, Josie Davis was in the second batch of kids. She was Sara Powell, the younger but taller sister of Nicole Eggert’s character (Jamie). And yes, she is quite hot. She’s changed a lot, IMHO, but it’s all been for the better!

And check out this link. Whoo-hoo!

Thanks, PRNYouth. She is the one I was thinking of/picturing in my mind–I was just confused and thought that she was on the show before Eggert instead of at the same time.

I missed the marathon, but was watching the show when Nick was airing epsiodes at 4 AM when I get home from work. Just as goofy as I remember it, but still the perfect mindless fluff for when I can’t sleep. Although I still can’t stand Ellen Travolta, what an annoying actress. Being related to John Travolta is the only way to explain why she ever had an acting career.

I always though the theme song made Charles out to be interested in BDSM. “New boy in the neighborhood/ lives downstairs and it’s understood/he’s there just to take good care of me/ like he’s one of the family…” Creepy.

Are they only showing episodes with the second family? If so, anybody know why?

Josie Davis grew up very nice indeed.

The girl on the show’s first season was a character named Lila Pembroke, played by April Lerman.

I liked her. Apparently her career has gone somewhat downhill since then, her most recent outing was in “Sorority House Party”.
