The OJ Bronco Chase Anniversary Thread: What Were You Doing 19 Years Ago Today?

Then she was pretty sharp: Dominos said their sales went crazy during the car chase.

OMG! Then it was Dominos who set him up! They did it for the sales! I knew he was innocent!

What was I doing during the white Bronco run? I have absolutely no recollection whatsoever. 1994? Working some job a year after college, I suppose…

That’s why they never found the knife. It was a pizza cutter.

I was at my Grandma’s house watering her plants and feeding her bird while she was out of town. I turned the TV on for noise since I was gonna be there a bit, she had lots of plants. I had to make multiple trips with the watering can and every time I passed the TV that car chase was on.

I was the set dresser on a bad low-budget sci-fi film. At that point, we were filming in Lone Pine, CA, near Death Valley. Although we were in the desert, in the middle of nowhere, we were still getting live updates on the OJ chase via walkie-talkies from the grips, who had a tv in their grip truck.

What was the movie?

I don’t remember what I was doing when the Bronco chase was on, but I do remember the verdict in the murder trial. I was at work, in the kitchen of the hospital where I was employed. Someone turned a radio on when it was announced the verdict was imminent. Some people cheered when it was announced he was not guilty, and the rest of us just went “huh” in a depressed tone.

Digital Man

I was bedridden, as I had begun bleeding during my last pregnancy, and had to stay flat in bed. The chase was the most interesting thing on the TV, since we were young and poor and didn’t have cable. Off topic, the baby was born later and he is off to college in a couple of months to become an aeronautical engineer.

That’s pretty cool. Beats my Ewing story.

Those are some big name star’s brothers.

**How **did I miss this thread?!?!

I was pissed as hell that OJ had the nerve to upstage My Birthday Party. Everyone was, ‘yeah… happy… whatever,’ and then back to the tv.

And that was my family!!!

Ha, yes! I’d actually forgotten about that. That was a running joke amongst the crew members while we were filming it.

I just remembered something else, pertaining to the thread: during a location scout for the film, a number of weeks prior, we were in downtown L.A. driving in a van, and we spotted OJ on the street; I think he was filming something. Someone in our van called out to him, and he waved at us. Would have been before the murders, obviously.

Oh! And on yet ANOTHER crappy low-budget film I worked on, probably a year or so earlier, the extras coordinator was Kato Kaelin. I was just awash in OJ and crappy low budget movies in those days.

Sorry, posting using my phone, it didn’t quote the part of the post with the name ind it would have been way too much work to back out of the screen to look up his name then go back in and make a post about some jackass that I never watched as an athlete, or as an actor, or as a criminal. I do recognize the name because it was in the news so freaking often I stopped watching TV and reading newspapers for several months.

Ohh!
So that’s her firt name?

I was at home watching on the television, hanging out with my wife and 7 year old son and daughter of less than 1.

Is there any record of what happened to the Bronco? Sold for scrap?

I was in Honduras and talking to my mom from the Hondutel HQ in Tegucigalpa. My mom said you are not going to believe what happened to OJ!

Hey everyone, don’t forget that David Hasselhoff had a pay per view concert that not surprisingly, did very poorly. I think he lost quite a bit of money and was very bitter for a long time afterwards.

I was travelling in British Columbia. I’d been on the road for a week, staying at youth hostels, friends’ apartments, and relatives’ houses. No cellphone then, limited media exposure, just bus rides, scenery, and a few good books. I’d arrived at my aunt’s house with my friend Rob in tow. We turned on the BCTV news and were utterly perplexed as to why the news was giving top billing to a sports celebrity from another country running strangely-slowly from the police.

The next day we caught a lift to Long Beach national park and camped on the beach and utterly forgot about it. Watching eagles and sea otters and keeping our food away from bears was much more immediate.
