The bad thing is I find that I do this in threads that are not this one, as well, and think at times, “why did you use those big words? You could have said X in its place.”
FOUL!!!
And, you’re welc— I’m glad you like it.
Oops. I feel bad that I did that. But, I did say some nice things, does that make up for it? I will watch out from now on.
My wife is a poet and writes prose too. She has just done a three-year course at a big school to learn more of such things. Plus, she is in some groups for folks that write, and they do drills and games in this space. Last night she told me that she now does a new drill where she has to write a piece with words that all have one sound, like in this thread. She said it is hard to write like this and that she makes goofs a lot. I thought that was droll, since I had not told her of this thread or that I wrote in it like this.
This is more hard than it looks and we all mess up from time to time.
Such as:
This word is short, but I think not short in the right way for this thread.
The cats here want food in the dish at all times, too. And at times they will sit by the dish and look at me even if there is food in the dish – they will say ‘not the right food!’ or ‘this is stale!’
Whoops!
And I had just said ‘we all mess up from time to time’ in that same post!
I guess we can’t do like Sly Stone did with … be mice elf… right?
You goofed. Don’t feel too bad. We all do it.
My dog (she has the same name as a one cent coin), loves to play with the boy next door (he is six years old). When she goes out she will sit and look at his house with a “where are you? come out and play with me” look. Last night he came out and they played in the snow. They like to run. Then he would get on the ground and she would jump on him. He threw snow at her (he is six years old). It was a fun time for both of them.
I am sick now and will stay in. It is the type of flu that can last for a few weeks; this is week two. I did go to work some days back, and wish I had not. For now I will stay in bed and play games on my phone. Wish me well!
Get well, H!
I hope you get well soon!
The man who lives next door but one comes from time to time with a child or two or three. My dog is full of joy! Bounce, bounce, leap, run, chase! They live with two large dogs (mine is large but not as large) so they have no fear of mine though one child is quite small. My dog was born and lived five months on a farm with lots of young ones so he knows how to play with no harm done.
All this play with dogs sounds so nice. Folks like dogs here too. They bring their dogs to all the shops and parks. Dogs that are not a known breed are called “poi dogs” and there are a lot of those.
If you have a dog, we all know you live here and are not just a guy or gal who came on a plane from a far place, since if you just came to see the sights and stay a few days it would be too hard to bring your dog with you.
It is very hard to bring a pet to the isle where you live. That state has quite strict rules to bring in a pet. If you bring a dog or cat to the state, you must part from it for a full four months while they watch it to make sure it is not sick. Dogs and cats get sick with a thing that the state is free from right now and they want to keep it that way. (It’s that thing that you can get from bites; it makes you thirst and then you die.) But it seems that there is a new rule that lets the pet stay in the watch place for just five days if you meet some strict rules. To do that, the pet needs a chip, needs to have shots up to date, needs to have health checks a long time ere you come, and such things. A lot of fees need to be paid too. I doubt that there are a lot of folks who go through this hard task just to get their pet to come with them for a short trip. It seems that it’s less hard to bring in pet rats than pet dogs or cats since for the most part, rats don’t get sick with the thing that they want to keep out of the state.
You are quite right in all you say of rules to bring dogs and cats to the place where I live.
I have two things on the dog/squeak toy…
First, she loves to play the “jump and catch” game. She will start to run and I throw the ball with a big arc. She will try to catch it on the bounce. If done right she will catch it at the peak of her jump. But, with the snow there is no bounce. The ball just lands with a thud. So, she picks it up and runs with it, with squeaks of course.
But, now the squeak does not work. When we went out it worked just fine, but while we were out it stopped. She would bite down on the ball and there was no squeak. We bought three balls, so there are two left. We need to find ways to make them last.
That sounds like a song.
“Stand in the place where you live
Now face north
Think…”
Well that’s as far as you can go with that song in this thread.
Looks like a good thing to do, though. Re what to think on, I leave to you.
There are times when we all need to stand our ground. And to stand on our ground and think.
[Now I think I’ll go hear that song; it’s been a while since I did.]
On the last day of this week I will see a play. It’s that one lots of folks like, where they sing songs of a great man who lived far in the past. Though the man lived in the past, the songs are hip hop. This man helped the first man to lead this land. But then he got in a fight with some guy, and got shot, and died. So sad.
I did see this play years in the past, when it was in San Fran. But I am glad to see it one more time. This time the play is on tour, and will be in a place more near me, in the town where the folks who make laws in this state meet.
From the clues in the post I still can’t tell what the play is. Should I know who the man is and the name of the play?..
Oh… I looked it up and got it. I have not seen the play but it sounds good. I should have known from the clues what it is with no help.
