It is, so I’m interested to know if there’s some combination of factors (e.g. which browser is being used, scroll-wheel versus dragging the onscreen scroll-bar, etc.) that make it more or less likely to happen.
When it does happen if feels as though the site is fighting me, which seems oddly personal (even if it is illusory).
I’m using a Win 10 laptop with a touch pad, Firefox most recent version. I note there is a lot of discussion on the variability of the mouseover feature with different themes/devices/browsers on the mouseover thread – which I am sure you are watching carefully!
But that brings me to another new feature that I really like here: Not losing a reply while I go hunt for another thread. Here, I can do that without opening a new tab.
I’m on the Discourse-classic theme (none of the others met other visual needs I have as of last time I tried) and I do not have mouseover. Chrome on a Windows 10 laptop, no touch screen.
Seanette, go to your profile and click on Preferences, then Categories. That brings up a list of options, Watched, Tracked, Watching First Post and Muted. Click in the body of ‘Muted’ and it will bring up a drop down menu of all forums. Click on the ones you don’t want to see and Bob’s yer uncle.
If you ever change your mind and want them back, just repeat the process.
