If you get a chance to see them, go. I saw them (at Disney Hall with Boom Bip, John Tejada, Dntel & Dublab Soundsystem), and it was pretty amazing. One of the best nights ever. A pretty magical experience.
Do they have a cool stage set-up? When I saw them in 97, they had a huge white pyramid onstage and the band was in the top of it (which was transparent). They also had some other huge shapes hanging from the ceiling that they projected images onto. The show itself wasn’t all that exciting, but it looked cool.
Disney Hall isn’t all that big. And they had several rigs to move on and off the stage, so no pyramid. I’m glad there was no pyramid. It was more intimate that way. Alex was even down in the crowd for a bit. There were projections behind them…one on that cool organ. Really neat.
