I saw "Kids in the Hall" last night!

The Kids in the Hall did a live show as part of the Comedy Festival at Caesar’s Palace last night.

Let me just say, if their tour takes them anywhere near your home town, GO!!! It was about the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen! Gavin, Chicken Lady, Buddy Cole…all there, all just as funny as they ever were. And if you can’t get to see them, they were filming the show, so there’ll probably be a DVD release soon.

Anyone see them on this tour, or last night? I’d like to know what you thought.

I’m so jealous- my sister went, I was supposed to be out of town but we cancelled at the last minute so I could have gone. She said it was an awesome show.

I saw them much earlier this year in the tour. I agree it was “as funny as ever” (I’d seen them on a previous tour) and I LOVED it!!

I saw them in Anaheim and loved it, although my enjoyment was marred a little by the two young women in front of me who kept standing up and screaming while making devil’s horns. I don’t know where they thought they were, but it was bizarre. They also recorded most of the show on their cellphones, so if you want to see it, I’m sure it’s up on YouTube, shrieking and all.

My favourite part was at the very end when they were ragging on each other. I can’t remember what was said (it was a while ago) but I do remember laughing so hard I could barely breathe. It’s definitely a show worth seeing.

The last bit in Saturday’s show was Mr. Tyzik “crushing the heads” of the other cast members. My favorite was Dave–after mentioning NewsRadio and a couple of Dave’s other credits, he said, “I have just two words for you…Poker Show!

Most of the material was new, but they did perform two “classics”–Gavin and the Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the Chicken Lady sex-phone skit.

Best line of the night: Dave and Kevin as a neighbor couple holding the new baby of Mark and Bruce. Dave goes into a tirade about how “hateful” the baby is:

“Babies are supposed to inspire a song in your heart! The only songs I can think of are the songs of slavery, or death…or that “Yellow” song by Coldplay!”

I saw them in Cincinnati years ago. They’re great.

I saw them the other day… on DVD (boo). It’s absolutely remarkable how ageless most of their bits are. Unlike old SNL, their skits could have been made a year or two ago. I wonder how crazy their lives would have been had YouTube been around when they started out.
