I saw them on their last tour a few years ago, and enjoyed it. That last show was mostly old material w/ just a few new sketches mixed in. I hear this new show is the reverse of that…mostly new material w/ some old ones thrown in. I also hear that the new stuff is pretty good.
Anyone else seeing them on this tour? Anyone just want to chime in w/ their favorite KITH bits/quotes/wigs/etc?
Jealous jealous jealous. Was supposed to see them in LA but my sched didn’t allow it.
Even though, technically, they were sold out and there were people lined up around the block, I still consider them way underrated and practically timeless. Case in point: Gave my nephew some old SNL and some first season KITH (on videotapes, way back when). He barely got halfway through the SNL, but passed around KITH to everyone in his dorm. I say quite a few comedy groups these days, the weirder ones, at least, owe their careers to those guys. Let me know how the show was!
I saw them on their last tour and I thought it was a hoot. I also managed to hang around the exit long enough to get everyone’s autographs. They all seemed like genuinely nice guys!
They have a few new sketches on their MySpace page but I am not going to watch them so as not to spoiler the show for me.
I’ve been a huge KITH fan for quite a while now, but I can’t seem to find any other IRL friends who appreciate them as much as I do (except the one guy who is going to the show with me). Seems like people are either obsessed with them or could care less. They just don’t “get it,” man.
I saw them in Portland a couple of weeks ago. It was much, much funnier than I’d dared to hope. I had seen the 2002(?) tour show on TV a couple of years ago, and was disappointing.
This show has a few old skits mixed in with new. It’s very fresh and funny.
They put on a good live show. (Although I should say I haven’t seem them this century.)
Add me to the “envious” list; I picked up the Georgia Straight last week and said, “Awesome! The Kids in the Hall are coming to town… uh… the day before yesterday.” I should check local media more frequently.
I got all excited they were coming to Cleveland and went to see how much tickets were… Uh… cheapest ones were over $200/seat. Guess I’m missing this one.
I used to be a huge KitH fan, quite a few years ago. What does Dave Foley look like these days? Last time I saw him on TV he was huge, gray and grizzled. It didn’t look like makeup, either.
Anybody ever listen to Bruce’s comedy albums? Does he perform any of the tunes on-stage? I’d love to see him do Daddy’s on the Drink Again, *Clinique Ladies * or *Sucra Poppa * live. I’m sick of hearing the Daves song, though. He’s got much better stuff than that.
I just saw Foley in an article about the tour, and he’s looking pretty good. He was clean shaven, normal hair, and he lookd like he’d lost weight. He honestly looked about 5-10 years younger than the last time I’d seen him on anything (Celebrity Poker maybe?).
Nope…still under $40 before tax. Maybe you clicked the wrong button?

Lunar Saltlick**, I love Shame Based Man. Fantastic album. I can’t for the life of me remember if he performs any of it on stage. I am leaning towards “no”…
Here’s their MySpace page with videos, pics and a blog.
I don’t remember what site it was, but I’ve never heard of StubHub. It was whatever claimed to be the official site for buying tickets. I tried ticketmaster but they didn’t list Cleveland.
Saw them in Seattle a couple of weeks ago - GREAT show - almost all new material, and yet quality, with appearances by many favorite characters. AND a couple of videos thrown in - one to kick off the show, and one ‘intermission’ piece that was about 6 minutes long.
Shame-Based Man has to be one of the most underrated comedy albums of all time. Some of the pieces are throw-away fluff, but Daddy’s on the Drink, Eraserhead, *Doors Fan * and *Lift Me Up * are gold.
If someone gets the chance please ask Dave Foley what the hell he was thinking (or taking) when he decided to do a full frontal scene in a Uwe Boll movie.
