He is pro-environment. He is anti-SUV and drives a fuel efficient vehicle. (I don’t recall which.)
He tends to be a civil libertarian on privacy issues. He often talks about how he doesn’t like Ashcroft or the general secrecy of the Bush administration.
I watch O’Reilly often, and think many of your assumptions about him are incorrect.
He was registered republican at one point. IIRC, someone in the media found out that he used to be a registered republican. However, he is an independant currently.
He does not claim “not to be a conservative”. He claims not to show favoratism one way or the other to conservatives or liberals. He is conservative on many issues and I don’t think he would deny this if asked.
You are just flat out wrong on the gay issues and on taxes. What evidence do you have that he “probably” holds those views?
What is the point of all this anyway?
If we list enough conservative traits of O’Reilly we can label him as such and therefore discount his opinion? If so, you got the wrong forum.
He does get things wrong. On a recent FNC broadcast , commenting on the row between Tony Blair and the BBC, he said that the BBC had the monopoly of television news programmes in the UK. This is completly wrong . There are least two other news providers ( ITN and SKy News) in this country. In fact Sky News is owned by Murdoch , owner of Fox News.
Labels are irrelevant. I am interested in compiling a list of his political values based upon the opinions he has expressed on the air.
He is furious that Madonna, britany, and whather face all kissed on MTV. He thinks that is offensive and sick and children should never see that…
He made a huge deal about gay days at disney world. Lewd sexual behavior takes place late at night…i am sure lewd sexual heterosexual stuff could be videotaped over a period of 6 years at disney world. But he is furious that homosexual lewd behavior was taking place over a period of 6 years. He used this video tape as a club to try and desparage gay days.
I watch Bill occassionally and sometimes find the debate intriguing. I am sure many people have much more knowledge of what he has said regarding gay rights. I was merely stating my impression of where he stands based upon what i have heard him say.
Regarding taxes and anything else I have said, please don’t just say I am wrong. Tell me what is right. I am just curious.
