Back in the 1970s on New York City you would constantly see tv commercials for a consumer finance company called The Money Store. Yankees broadcaster Phil Rizzuto was the spokesman. At some point they replaced him with George Fenneman, best known as Groucho’s sidekick on “You Bet YourcLife”. The New York Daily News actually editorialized this was a bad idea since the Scooter was a well known New York figure for 40 years. Rizzuto was two years older but outlived Fenneman by a decade.

Willie Mae “Big Mama” Thornton was the first to record “Hound Dog,” later a hit for Elvis Presley; and “Ball and Chain” later a hit for Janis Joplin. She died on July 25, 1984, having outlived them both.

Maureen O’Hara Natasha who played the mother in 1961 The Parent Trap, actually outlived Natasha Richardson who played the mother in the 1998 remake of the film. Natasha Richardson tragically died in 2009 from a head injury at the age of 45, Maureen O’Hara Natasha lived till 95 and died in 2015

I was expecting that the reason this thread was revived was the death of Roger Moore.

Sean Connery who started playing James Bond in 1962 is alive and outlived Roger Moore who first played the character in 1973.

Glancing at first ladies Sarah Polk (1803-1891) seems to have outlived a lot. Margaret Taylor, Abigail Fillmore, Jane Pierce, Mary Lincoln, Eliza Johnson, Lucy Hayes. Ellen Arthur died nineteen months before her husband became President.

Frances Cleveland, who was 21 when she married incumbent President, outlived Caroline Harrison, Ida Sexton, Ellen Wilson and Florence Harding.

Jimmy Carter outlived Ronald Reagan.

Also, David Niven played James Bond? wasn’t he awfully old?

Barry Nelson was the first actor to play James Bond in 1954. Mr. Nelson died in 2007.

Speaking of Curlies, Curly Howard predeceased his predecessor in the Stooges (and significantly elder brother), Shemp, by three years. (Moe was the middle brother, and outlived them both by ~20 years.)

James Madison (POTUS #4) outlived James Monroe (POTUS #5).

John Quincy Adams (POTUS #6) outlived Andrew Jackson (POTUS #7).

Adams, Jackson & Martin Van Buren (#8) outlived William Henry Harrison (#9).

Van Buren also outlived John Tyler (#10), James K. Polk (#11) and Zachary Taylor (#12). John Tyler outlived Polk & Taylor.

Millard Fillmore (#13), Franklin Pierce (#14), James Buchanan (#15) and Abraham Lincoln (#16) died in reverse order of their presidencies.

Ulysses S. Grant (#18) and Rutherford B. Hayes (#19) outlived James Garfield (#20). Hayes also outlived Chester A. Arthur (#21).

Grover Cleveland (#22/24) outlived Benjamin Harrison (#23) and William McKinley (#25).

William Howard Taft (#27) outlived Woodrow Wilson (#28) and Warren G. Harding (#29). Wilson also outlived Harding.

Herbert Hoover (#31) outlived Franklin D. Roosevelt (#32).

Harry Truman (#33) outlived Dwight D. Eisenhower (#34) and John F. Kennedy (#35). Eisenhower also outlived JFK.

And finally, John Adams (POTUS #2) outlived Thomas Jefferson (POTUS #3) by just a few hours. So far, they are the only two U.S. Presidents to die on the same day: July 4th, 1826.

By now, Gordon Haskell has also outlived John Wetton (d.2017); sadly, Greg Lake (d.2016) did not.

Uriah Heep’s original bassist, Paul Newton, was replaced in 1971 by Mark Clarke, who himself was replaced in '72. Both men are still alive, and of the four bass players who’ve been in the band since, three are deceased: Gary Thain (d.1975), John Wetton (d.2017), and Trevor Bolder (d.2013).

Ronnie James Dio: dead. Ozzy Osbourne: alive.
