Standard from STNG onward.
Speaking of which, this episode is right up there with STNG.
Was it about female circumcision?
All hail Rudolph!

Yeah, but would you want your daughter to date him? :dubious:
Is that a Turner on Ed’s wall. Yeah, he can be annoying, but so are all my friends. I would like to be Seth’s friend. :o
You take that back!
The Moclan advocate made an interesting point about male circumcision. Religion aside, it’s basically another nonessential form of surgical mutilation imposed on infants by their parents.
I’m still trying to figure out how an androgynous/hermaphrodite species can identify themselves as either male or female.
The once-in-75-years “females” are evidently born with “girl” parts, whatever those are like on that planet. So the Moclans’ claim to being “exclusively male” is tenuous at best.
Have I mentioned that I still love Sherry Palmer? Though my One True Love was Chloe.
I don’t have a daughter.
Any more.
When they successfully split the asteroid (unlike Spock in the TAS), I was expecting the planet that they saved to go after them for some reason that this asteroid was essential to their society.
The boxing scene was hilarious, you could see the girl was hitting him as hard as she could and barely phasing him until the knockout punch (which looked to be CGI).
She needs to put on a little muscle ( ie Spice Williams on ST5) to make it a little more believable.
Other SF, too–notably, the hangars on Death Stars long before STTNG.
One other thing in Orville’s favor (unlike the upcoming ST Discovery) is the really bright sets which makes it hard to hide any deficiencies (effects.makeup, etc)
I was waiting for the problem to be compounded because there were now thousands of smaller asteroids to worry about, in addition to the two big chunks.
PSSSST!: The verb is “faze,” not “phase.” ![]()
Presumably they’re darkened slightly 8 out of every 24 hours. :o
TOS. ***TAS ***was the animated series.
sorry Typo
Learn something new every day. I though they were interchangeable, I was wrong
Unless someone works on a different length day. In which case, people’ll just have to get used to it. Or have a psychotic episode.
Another point in its favor is that so far at least Orville seems to be an episodic show while the review I read today of the new Star Trek show said it’s going to be serialized, with the main storyline spread over the entire season.
And TAS was arguably better.
No, the humor comes from her appearing to be the merest wisp of a girl. And despite my continued love for Penny Johnson Jerald, I was conditioned PRECISELY to respond to Adrianne Palicki. Though Penny’s more age-appropriate.
The remains of the asteroid were shown to be moving away from the planet.
In time, gravity will always do you wrong.
Have you ever heard of “head cheese”?
