The issue of choosing 30 survivors out of a possible 75 was also handled a little lightly.
In all fairness, there wasn’t a lot of time. I’d have just taken all the children I could push into the shuttle.
First ID a couple of teachers (what good is saving a species if they lose their entire culture and history?) and then go for kids AND young adults (so they’ll start having more kids right away, allowing for culture to be passed down.)
Anyway, I’ll retract saying that every minute of the episode was bad. I liked when Bortus asked if they would be allowed to pick their own weapons during the couple’s counseling.
