As I recall, no musical numbers are actually performed in that film.
Oh man, I can’t wait til ROTK comes out. I really hope that the Academy is just waiting for the third movie to honor the “trilogy,” like BuckleberryFerry said. It’ll be a shame if Peter Jackson gets nothing for all this wonderful work.
jsc1953, I think that maybe the people who won for cinematography and score last year for FOTR didn’t get nominated because they most likely feel there wasn’t much new from one movie to the next.
Of course, the people who really get it know that the two movies are completely different from each other
J-Lo looked like Rhoda Morganstern.
Didn’t she get up on the marquee at the end and “sing” with the band?
That’s the part I was thinking of. I’m pretty positive Coyote Shivers actually sang, because hey, why wouldn’t he; but I haven’t seen anything to indicate Zellweger did her own “singing.”
To me, J-Lo looked like she had a bun in the oven.
Oh, that’s all we need, a little JLo shooter runnin’ around.
In order for RotK to win, it MUST be better than TTT. It’s gotta approach (and surpass) FotR in quality.
I completely agree. I was disgusted by Adrien Brody. It did look like an assault, and was totally inappropriate. And the comment about the gift bag was nauseating. To me, Halle Berry did NOT look like she was enjoying the kiss. She locked shocked and upset to me. I don’t have it on tape, so I can’t watch that moment again (not that I would want to!) but IIRC she looked really upset and it took her a few moments to collect herself–by the time Brody was finished with his speech (and, btw, what arrogance to think that only HE was important enough to have his time limit extended) she had managed to drag herself together enough to paste on a smile and act like it was no big deal.
News flash–forcing yourself on a woman, even just to kiss her, is NOT OK.
Ok, getting off soapbox now. Other than that, thoroughly enjoyed the Oscars. The dresses were great, loved U2, Steve Martin had some funny moments.
I appreciate the link, but it doesn’t convince me. I think she’s just being a good sport about it. As I mention above, it seems from my recollection that she at first looked really upset and then pasted a smile on and decided that she would be gracious about it. Besides, even if someone says it’s ok AFTER you force a kiss on them, you had no way of knowing it would be ok with them BEFORE you did it. So it was still wrong, IMHO.
