Is there anyone here who likes or supports His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI? If so, why?

We like it when you call him by his name.
He’s a fairly nice old man, knows his theology, and knows both sides of almost any issue.
I also like His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI because he stands firmly for what he believes.
He seems to be very caring. I have heard and read him described as quiet and gentle.
I recall reading on another board how he fed stray cats. At one point, they’d follow him from his residence to the Vatican. Once a guard gently informed him that the procession would have to stop, as the cats were “laying siege to the Holy See.”

I would like to state that the “nicknames” I have used in this thread came from a very pro-Vatican, pro-His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI message board. No insult intended.

I’m perfectly content with him. Don’t really know much about him yet- I still have to read his books. I’m not-quite-Catholic.
A very conservative Catholic messageboard I’m on refers to him as ‘Our German Shepherd’. I don’t think the nicknames you use are a problem at all.
He’s encouraging civil disobedience in Spain and he allegedly compared Bush Sr. to the anti-Christ. From TCRNews:
