I could have sworn there was a Police video of “Wrapped Around Your Finger” where Sting (I assume) is playing a piano with eggs placed atop the black keys. In fact, I know I learned the piano fingering from watching him. Recently, a radio DJ made mention of this video and all the candles. “Candles?” I thought. “Doesn’t he mean eggs?” Well, searching Youtube, I can’t find the video I remember. Did I fall into the Twilight Zone? Does anyone remember a Police video I recall with the eggs across the keyboard? Set me straight!
The video with all the candles is “Every Breath You Take.” I don’t remember the “Wrapped Around Your Finger” video.
ETA: and, I’m apparently wrong. Memory is a funny thing. I don’t remember an egg video, though.
The eggs on the piano were in a still of Andy Summers from the promo for the Synchronicity LP: The Police - Synchronicity Album Teaser - YouTube
The candles are indeed in “Wrapped Around Your Finger”.
The video for “Wrapped Around Your Finger” has Sting running through rows of tall, lit candlesticks.
As Lobot wrote above and what this site says, Andy Summers is featured in a still photo playing a piano with eggs on the keys. Apparently it’s an image in one of the variations of the “Synchonicity” LP cover.
Wow, that’s too weird. I did not grow up with MTV. I’d watch it at a friend’s house. I don’t know many videos, but I am certain I was taken by “Wrapped Around Your Finger” played on the piano with the eggs. I know I learned the fingering from this simple song from a video that now seems not to exist! Did I dream it?
I think you’ve cross-pollinated your Police videos.
In the video of Every Breath You Take, the fingering from the piano in the middle section is shown. It wouldn’t be much to figure out the note progression.
Here’s the video. It’s about at the 1:30 mark where you can see what I’m talking about.
