The Power of Imagination: RolePlayingGames

I came across this post today on a board discussing a PC game. It appears that the author is seriously disabled and terminally ill, and has found a way to live the life he otherwise could not:
Hello and Goodbye

I was so deeply moved that I wanted to share it with you, here. I know that many of us have limitations of some sort and have had new worlds opened up to them via computers in general, and games in particular.

This thread might be a nice place to share similar stories.

whoops, wrong forum? Cafe Society?

One of my biggest customers is a 68 year old woman who plays 6-8 hours of world of warcraft per day. She has massive health problems and rarely leaves the apartment except for doctors appointments or the grocery store. Before she was introduced to WoW by her son, pretty much all she did was watch TV. Now she has an interactive experience and social outlets at least ina pseudo virtual way.

Beats the hell outta TV as far as I am concerned.
