Hey, does anyone remember the old Power Plant indoor amusement park in Baltimore?
It was run by Six Flags in an old power plant building in Baltimore in the early 1980’s. The concept was that a Jules Vernian scientist named Phinneas T. Flagg had tried to find a good power source for people, had failed at that, but here were some of his cool inventions.
Apparently, their was a “Circus of the Strange” there. And a smell-o-rama 3D movie theatre with the smell of different things on screen being pumped out of the back of the chairs in front of you.
Does anyone remember this park and have any good stories of stuff that they had there, designs, et cetera? Very little information turned up through a search on Google.
(And yes, I know that the Power Plant became a dance club with became the Hard Rock Cafe, Barnes & Nobles, and ESPNzone that are there today. I don’t really care about that stuff.)
