What is the SD on President Bush and the easing of or reversing the environmental regulations?
I know that some of the answer may cross into GD territory and that is fine with me.
Is this an example of The President propping up big business, correcting some BS regulations, or maybe just…???
TIA
This is what Business Week had to say about it recently. Bottom line: so far, not so bad.
But, BW obviously has a pro-business bias (which, to be clear, does not automatically mean anti-environment), though saying that things are OK so far doesn’t take into account the potential future impact, which is what the environmentalists are concerned about.
Speaking of environmentalists, check out Sierra Club’s W. Watch.
If you’re referring to the New Source Review and power plant issue, I spent a lot of time posting several thousand words on clarifying that issue here, mostly debunking it (IMO that is - there were also some disagreements and differences of opinion as well).

The only real update to this issue since then is that more States have filed suit to reverse the EPA decision. IMHO, those suits should and will fail barring new legislation, but the courts will decide that, not I.
Thanks Dopers!
I’ll dig into those links now.
