Actually, I would say it was incredibly stupid of Meg Whitman to release that ad without realizing the implication. But yeah, good catch by Brown and crew!
And with Peter Coyote narrating, it sounds like a PBS documentary!
Not even close. In 2012, for instance, Texas went for Romney 57-41. But Utah was 73-25, Wyoming was 69-28, Oklahoma was 67-33, Idaho was 65-33, and Nebraska was 61-38. Also redder than Texas were both Dakotas, Kansas, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Being the 15th-reddest state out of 50 is hardly “the reddest of all red states”, nor is having a R-D gap a third the size of the true reddest state “nearly so”. Texas’s significance is merely that, of the reliably red states, it’s the largest.
Thanks muchly! And boy howdy, they took full advantage of that gift in that commercial. Can’t remember when’s the last time I was so impressed by a Dem ad.
You’ve got a lot of nerve, bringing facts into this discussion.
What do you think this is, the Straight Dope or something?
