And that clown looked cool, at least until the bullet hit.
It is either a huge helmet or a huge codpiece. I suppose you could also install an extra-long bayonet.
I love that scene. Solo is almost apologetic that he hasn’t got the time to give the guy the mano a mano that is his due.
Wait, now I’m confused
. Was this an allusion to the “Han shoots first” or “Indy has the better weapon” meme?
I thought it was in Star Wars when the guy in a turban draws a sword on Han Solo.
I’m willing to be corrected.
Now you got us all confused, the guy Han shot in Star Wars was Greedo, an alien without a turban and a sword, but a handgun.
Now I’M confused, too.
I’m sure some well-informed person will be along shortly.
Must be one of those extended cuts.
I have seen both films quite often.
Here’s the “Han shoots first” scene from Star Wars:
And here’s the “Indy shoots a swordsman with a pistol” scene from “Raiders of the Lost Ark”:
Dysentery was an unspoken factor there.
FTR, as the person who brought up the Harrison Ford allusion …
I was referring to Indiana Jones shooting the Arab (?) fellow waving the sword in Raiders of the Lost Ark. That’s the scene which sorta matches @Alessan’s post just above mine about Swiss Guards wielding their Halberds.
Problem was I could remember the actor’s name but not immediately recall the name of his character, nor the name of the movie. But I know it was one of that franchise. Which franchise name I also could not recall. And was too lazy to research. So “Harrison Ford” is what I posted. The Star Wars Greedo scene never entered my mind.
Sorry to confuse.
Now about that good King Charles fellow. Anyone have any new news on topic? ![]()
Oh yes, it’s definitely this one I was thinking of. And I was picturing that being from Star wars. I knew that a factual ambiguity would not be allowed to stand here for long without being corrected by those in the know.
Carry on.
Are you suggesting that King Charles once shot a man - who was wielding a sword - with a pistol?
Because that would be some next level monarchical badassery.
ESPECIALLY if it’s about Star Wars or Star Trek, expect to be corrected there
. But never mind, it can happen to all of us, sometimes pop culture from the past blurs all into one.
Not if it’s the kind made of beaver felt.
You come at the king, you best not miss.

Quoting a wise poster upthread:
I think we’ve had enough off-topic jokes for a while. If you don’t have something politically viable for Charles III for the moment, let’s wait until we do.
This is just a guidance, not a warning.
Yes, there is shocking news that people have been stealing King Charles’ sheep:
