The Republican Party is the Party of Evil

I suspect that he and Trump have been exchanging ideas about how to avoid the tax man.

The West Virginia senator committed to paying that hefty sum just hours after the Justice Department sued him and his wife, Cathy Justice, on behalf of IRS tax collectors, who said they had repeatedly attempted to recover the unpaid taxes, but to no avail, according to a complaint filed earlier on Monday.

Kind of like the joke where two friends are walking down a dark street when suddenly a thug with a gun confronts them, “Gimme all yer dough!”

The one friend turns to the other, “Hey, buddy. Here’s that ten bucks I owe you.”

There is nothing about the Republican Party that isn’t awful.

On January 16, Senate Republicans plan to hold a hearing with the intention of rolling back vehicle safety mandates on automatic braking and child-safety alarms that warn you when you’re leaving your child in the back seat. They say these measures are ineffective and too costly.

Remember a few days ago when the House voted to condemn socialism, and sooooo many Democrats agreed with that?

Republicans showed their true colors by refusing to vote to condemn fascism. So I don’t want to hear them complain about being called fascists.

I wasn’t sure where else to share this, but I thought it fit here. It’s a long but interesting article about how evangelicals and the MAGA/GOP side have been twisting Christianity to suit their own ends. Perhaps nothing new, but informative.

Funny. I was thinking a lot lately of this and one of Pablo’s responses in the Charlie Kirk thread. (Sorry, I am not going to wade through that cesspool of arrogant evil fappery to find the specific post)

When several posters called out the glaring gulf between Kirk’s ‘christian’ rhetoric and the actual teachings of Jesus, Pablo dismissed it all as a fringe interpretation of the Gospels.

I have always thought conservative christianity had a twisted view that is in many ways contradictory to what Jesus taught. Nothing new, its been a common criticism for decades.

I still really struggle with it, I just can’t understand that level of cognitive dissonance, and frankly dishonesty.

It’s just hipocrazy.

It’s when their lies are right out there like a black cloud hovering over a nation. It’s when they can’t even write a paragraph that does not contradict itself.

I’ve seen where people write (maybe here, maybe Facebook?) “Name one policy that Trump has enacted that demonstrates a Christian value.”

I have often thought that the most Christ-like thing about Trump is his fondness for prostitutes.

Former Arizona rep has pled guilty to forging signatures on his nominating petitions.

Oh, and he also used to be associated with Turning Point USA.

Austin Smith, 30, represented an Arizona House district in the Phoenix suburbs for one term before dropping his reelection bid in April 2024 when questions arose about signatures on his nominating petitions. He also resigned at the time as a leader of the conservative group Turning Point Action.

Every rental car I’ve driven that has this feature also has an option to turn it off somewhere in a settings menu. So they’re admitting that they don’t read the manual?

It would be nice if there was more standardization to some of these features though, like lane assist. One manufacturer’s version gives you a gentle bzzz, another’s is so rough that you feel like the wheel is being pulled out of your hands.

Trump Calls Somalis ‘Garbage’ He Doesn’t Want in the Country

President Trump has a history of insulting people from African countries, but the outburst was shocking in its unapologetic bigotry.

Shitty and racist, not shocking.

I’m waiting for the EO to remove that poem by Emma Lazerus. It’s no longer applicable.

It’s by no means a recent article, but I just discovered it and it really underlines the kind of person they chose as President: he makes money from the death of innocent people and doesn’t care. Like I said, old news, but still very telling.

They’ll just carve a carat between “huddled” and “masses” and carve the word “white” above the line.

Don’t you remember his reaction when the WTC towers fell? “I now own the tallest building in NYC.”

He was probably annoyed he couldn’t monetize 911.
