Don’t be so sure. Single-party states do exist, like China, Cuba, and North Korea. There are also countries that have opposition parties that are so weak that they might as well not exist.
If the Republicans need to find a scapegoat to explain away their failings, they will find one.

Saying he was present at the torture sessions doesn’t do it justice. One could be present at a torture session and be horrified by what they saw. But if interviewee is to be believed, DeSantis participated in the torture on a psychological level and reveled in it. But I agree most of the GOP base will think that those damn terrorists got what they deserved, and that it just proves what a badass DeSantis is.
