The Return Of Men’s Crop Tops

Some celebrities are pleased that men’s crop tops are becoming a thing. And were apparently a thing sometime before.

I’m all for body positivity. Make healthy choices regardless of your shape. But I don’t want to see your ugly male umbilici. If you’re in shape, it exceeds a tank top wardrobe for vanity and low self esteem. Some pride, please, pronto. And if you’re not in shape, the hand sanitizers now widely proffered are ineffective at cleaning the eyes or the soul. Must you do that to other people?

Anyone think this is a good idea?

If I had abs worth showing off I would. So would you.

99.99999% of crop top wearers don’t qualify. While we’re at it, a too short shirt due to the beer belly is not a crop top.

you managed to contradict yourself in one paragraph. try not being so vain.

I may not have abs - I eat - but I do have a few muscles and a flat belly. I would not wear a crop top ever. If I wanted to show anything off I would take off my shirt.

and who, exactly, do you think you’re showing off to?

I only take off my shirt when I want to show off my luscious, flowing locks…sprouting from my back, chest and shoulders.

I don’t see a crop top as a healthy choice for any guy - they look ridiculous if you’re not at the beach. If ANY woman wants to wear a crop top, I wouldn’t squawk. I can be body positive but still think the (archaic) unpolished look of men wearing jeans drooping below the waist to show off underwear are also like schoooool in the summertime.

I have no problem with it, as long as they can pull off the look. I’m big around the midsection, so I know I can’t pull it off, and that means having to pass up some really cute tops. Men deserve the same choices, imo.

Are male umbilici different from female umbilici?

(ETA: I do confess, though, that I think “outies” look weird.)

Not so much. It’s more the surrounding my area. (If you divided the abdomen into nine with a tic-tac-toe board the middle region is umbilical.)

I score about average on egotism scales but wonder whether I should apply the force of law to my proclamations from now on.
