The Reverend Horton Heat

I seem to do this a lot, but, Mods, if this is the wrong forum, please move it.

Are there any other Horton Heat fans here? I just saw him in Fort Collins, CO a couple of weeks ago. When I saw him in Denver in March or April, there were a couple thousand people there to see him. When I saw him in FC, there were only a couple of hundred.

Anyway, I’m looking for other fans. Anyone else?

i am a big fan of the reverend horton heat - not huge, but i have a couple cds and i’ve only seen him once (a LONG time ago - two years ago around christmas. we were going to again last year but got sold out) and it was one of the BEST SHOWS EVER.

moshing is so much fun.

any band with a band member named jimbo gets extra points, and the rev himself is just such a freaking badass…

: )

Since about 3 years ago, I’ve seen the Rev’ seven times, and I never had to leave Nebraska. He’ll be here again on 2 Dec and I can barely wait.
One time Jimbo was hanging out watching the opening band, so I bought a couple shots and asked him to do one with me. He said “No thanks–I drank too much last night.” I was a little embarassed for being such a fanboy (and I had to do two shots of Jagermeister myself).
One other time, a guy in front was superdrunk and started bad-mouthing the Rev’, saying he was gonna kick his ass, etc. Jimbo set his bass down, walked up to the guy, and asked him if there was a problem. I really thought he was gonna beat him down. Bouncers removed the guy, but not until the Rev’ told the bartender to buy him a drink–no hard feelings.
The legend goes that during the recording of The Full-Custom Gospel Sounds of…, they ran out of tomato juice for their Bloody Marys, and substituted BBQ sauce, thus giving birth to the Bloody LeRoy.
The Reverend Horton Heat–hell yes! Best songs: Now, Right Now and Livin’ On the Edge (of Houston).
Check out Nashville Pussy, also, even though the 6’5" chich bassist/fire-breather quit a few months ago.

I actually got to interview the band about 7 or more years ago. I didn’t know much about them at the time, but they opened for the Cramps, and they totally rocked. They really give a good show.

I’m a Rev Horton Heat fan.

Elvis, if you get a chance to see a local rockabilly band called The Hillbilly Hellcats, don’t miss 'em. I’ve caught them a few times and they’re awesome!

They rule my world. I saw them live in Atlanta twice, and it was fantastic. I also recommend the Cigar Store Indians, a great rockabilty band from the South.

::stepping out of the rockabilly-girl closet::

I love the Rev.

Avumede, you interviewed them? Damn. And Commander,
I’m downloading a few Hillbilly Hellcat songs as I type.

Did anyone see them on Drew Carey?
