That’s…not precisely how it went down. At all.
That isn’t actually what he said.
He suggested that people who use parental convenience as an excuse to take away other people’s rights aren’t fit to be parents. And…there’s something to that.
(“How do I explain different skin color to my little girl? It’d be so much easier if there just weren’t any dirty old black people.” Nasty. Very nasty.)
It’s difficult for me to maintain any respect for you when you mischaracterize other people’s posts this blatantly.
I read it as a parody of people who make toxic stereotypes and board stroke generalization, as well as sexism.
This uproar over TG persons and bathrooms is just nonsense, I’m surprised DA and others don’t see that. It’s not like any of us flashing each other in the bathrooms, anyways. At Dodger stadium the urinals are long troughs and guys stand next to each other to pee all the time, and I promise we’re not staring at each other’s junk. Well, at least I’m not. And if some of the guys are admiring mine, who can really blame them?
Funny thing about that, ever notice? Pee doesn’t smell good, of course, but when a bunch of different guys mix their pee together, its much, much worse.
I guess I’ve noticed that to the extent that I expect it to smell bad.
It’s my fault. I can never resist the Asparagus Hollandaise they serve at Dodger Stadium.
Yes.
People who don’t need to go potty* should be excluded from public restrooms.
And it should be okay to exclude people who are not patronizing a business that offers lavatory facilities to customers.
*“go potty” should be read broadly, to include activities such as impromptu face and hand washing, diaper changing, and make-up fixing.
…in the instances where THAT is the kind of restroom that is available. Try not to [del]be[/del] look so dishonest. :dubious:
The point is that the transgender woman shouldn’t have to be the only woman who doesn’t get to choose not to use a restroom full of men.
In your FACE, everybody in the 70s who insisted that the government couldn’t be the Employer of Last Resort!
Well, as I said I will answer or try to answer almost any question if I think the person is seriously asking and not concern trolling.
Well, the joke is certainly an example of sexism.
It’s just that I thought you were better than that, and you have been sensitive to jokes with barbs in them in the past. I thought that you, specifically, would be more intelligent and more considerate of the feelings of others than to make and perpetuate a sexist, toxic stereotype about men, even if you are not a man, because you’ve been so consistent (in a good way) about shouting down toxic stereotypes about trans people.
What twaddle. If the cartoon is a stereotype, it’s a stereotype of privilege, not maleness. And it’s accurate.
If anyone’s manly masculine feelings were hurt by the joke, perhaps they’re one of the Defenders of the Defended themself. If so, maybe their path to relief isn’t for Una to stop laughing at the irony, but for them to start.
Um…wow, you really are reading a whole lot of…something…into that post. Good luck.
Heh. Someone on Twitter recently posted a list that read in its entirety:
She said she was enjoying the sound of heads exploding in response.
I think your trilby may be a little tight.
I know the point. I agree with the point. I’m asking about something else. But thanks.
Let someone else try.
The cartoon was a mean and stupid attack. It mocks men who dare to insist that they be treated with EQUAL respect - the same respect they are expected to give to women - instead of the “privilege” excuse some people use to treat people like crap just because they are members of a certain group. The fact that you said that a stereotype is “accurate” says it all.
If you want equal treatment, you’ll get it from some men, but they will the be the ones who expect it in return. If you just want to make yourself feel good by using sexist attacks against whites or males and think that’s justice, you’re only going to make things worse. You’ll blame the victims, of course - saying they only want to hold onto their privilege - and you’ll belittle them for actually expecting to live up to all the preaching about sexism being, you know, wrong and all. But it will only set the cause back.
Ri-i-i-i-ght!
Where, in that cartoon, was there any reference to “equal respect”?
What male was being chastised for not accepting a demeaning remark?
Your claim is as silly as the claims of any other offenderatti of the Far Left or the Far Right and you are inventing a meaning for that thing that does not actually exist in the cartoon linked. Your odd interpretation works only as a Rorschach test, not as an explanation.
