I just finished watching this DVD - can’t even say I understood the movie, except that it was very suspenseful and creepy. Two-thirds of the way into the movie, my cell phone rings, and the voice on the other end says “7 Days” - just like it does in the film. A few minutes later, the person I’m watching the movie with receives the same call. NOW, I’m freaking out.
I’m fairly certain I’m not trapped in some bad horror flick, but I cannot figure out how we received these calls. Does anyone have any thoughts or knowledge about this?
I’d appreciate the help so I can get some sleep tonight!
Look for the simple explanation first - one of your friends somehow knows you rented it (saw it on your coffee table? Works at the local Blockbuster?) and is messing with you. Or it’s some sick promo by the local video store.
wow, that’s pretty creepy. I’m sure it was just someone who knew you were watching the movie. Probably a prank played on you by the kids working at the video place. Think about it …
“Hey, Cody, this guy just rented the ring!”
“Punch up his number on the system. Let’s call him up and scare him!”
How they might have known exactly WHEN you were going to watch the movie, I have no clue. Maybe they’ve got a whole system going.
I saw the movie about a month ago. A few minutes after it finished I got a call. Didn’t think anything of it, but when I answered, sure enough someone whispered “seven days”.
And wouldn’t you know it. Exactly 7 days later I died. Coincidence?
Luckily I returned the movie in time. Can you image the late charges?
I did that to my girlfriend, I told my friend to call at a certain time…I’d seen the movie in the theaters with the girl before her so I didn’t mention that I knew what it was about or even saw it. After she got the call, I wish I never did…she was crying and shaking for the rest of the night. But, man was it funny.
