Obama is not the first candidate to make meaningful use of the internet to rally supporters and raise money in the form of small donations. Both Howard Dean and Ron Paul did it before and Hillary is not doing too badly herself, considering her base is older than Obama’s and spends less time on the internet on average.
He is, however, the first major candidate not taking money from lobbyists (afaik).
Assuming he wins the DemNom, will this trend accentuate when he’s running against Mc Cain or will the amounts decrease as election fatigue sets in?
Assuming he then wins the presidential elections, do you think his policies will be different as a result than if he had taken lobbyist money and relied on large donations as is the traditional way?
