The Roman Catholic Church can go sit on a crucifix

Firing would have been a symbolic gesture, a showing that they gave a fuck about the victims.

But they did not not.

Hell, I’ll take that in a heartbeat. And I don’t even like little boys.

Apparently he was also an informant to the secret police (the Commies). Can you snitch?

I’ve had stitches, ain’t no thing. So, yeah.

Naw. They could have publicly defrocked him. That would have made it easier for the civil authorities to prosecute.

It does not seem like the kid being gay has anything to do with it on either side. I think what the church was saying is the relationship was consentual and the argument they are making is “You can’t rape a consenting sexual active person”, sort of glossing over that he was 12 and his rapist was in a position of authority over him.

Right, but what about the part where priests (bishops, cardinals, etc) are fucking celibate? Is that supposed to be oh well? The law really ought to address the violation of their s9lemn vows, even though those vows are not in a legal scope.

I’m not sure of where celibacy is derived from. I believe, perhaps incorrectly, for nuns they are married to Christ, thus it would be adultery in some weird way, and yes that could apply to the whole organization. I’m not really up on that. But it does seem more of a non-issue compared to the 12 yr olds they did it with.

Unless you wish to make the case that celibacy can not satisfy the urges which may then manifest in unholy ways.

If you care, there’s a Wikipedia article.

Of course, there is the claim, from a minister, that Jesus was actively homosexual,

Which could excuse the sexual behavior of clerics – if it were Catholic teaching, which it is not.

It is pretty odd that Jesus never married a woman.

Maybe not such a difficult thing to imagine, when you see this guy going around with an entourage of dudes, spouting what must have sounded like some crazy-ass shit, back in the day. In order to marry a woman/beard, he would have needed to find one who would have him ITFP.

Note that the archbishop responsible for the massive coverups in that case, Bernard Law, was coddle and protected by the Vatican following his resignation from his post in Boston.

Isn’t it a sin to have sex outside of marriage?

Practically speaking, only for women.

Are you implying that clerics are wed in the same way as nuns? Has the catholic church been carrying out gay marriage lo these many centuries?

No,I was responding to @kanicbird’s question as to where celibacy is derived.

The church says that you can’t have sex outside of marriage, and the church says you can’t get married. Therefore, celibate. (Many protestant denominations allow their clergy to get married, but sex outside of marriage is still a big no-no.)

Even if Catholic priests could get married, they still can’t marry other men, nor can they marry 12 year old boys.

The thing that has always puzzled me is, do they use a common theme in the seduction process? How do they justify the act to the child who in most cases is very religious? I had a weak attempt at seducing me when I was an altar boy. I recognized it and didn’t let it go any further. But my first thought was " How can you stand before all these people as a man of God?

This is one of the most dumfuk questions you’ve asked on this site.

You are a dumb fuck for thinking it is dumfuck! It is a very important question. How do they justify their faith while seducing a child? It would be nice if children could be prewarned of these tactics
