The Royal Wedding Is A Gala Event!

Hooray!

I’m sorry, the royal what now? Please explain

Several programs about it ran tonight. Fortunately I have enough channels to avoid them

Some kind of live coverage starts in NBC at 430 AM!!

HEY! ENGLAND! Think about a nice romantic moonlit wedding, and let America sleep in. I see no reason why you can’t adjust all your activities to our schedule. We are MUCH bigger, wealthier, and cooler than you,

Oh, sorry. After all that fuss you made in the 1770s, we just naturally assumed you wouldn’t be much interested.

The coverage from the BBC, so far, has been much better. The American networks are all gushy about stupid things. Like, “Oh my God, it’s like he’s a real person.” And the BBC announces the other royalty and guests as they arise, and not simply still crying about how William was so brave because his mother died, pure treacle on the American networks

Yeah…I refrained from saying in the other thread that Diana is the only thing missing. (I can say it here since you brought it up.)

It’s actually a celebration by the BRITISH - we pump oil into your seas, screw your girlfriends, then gloat about it under the guise of pageantry. Bwa ha haa.

The fact alone that it is on TV is treacle. Just because the American broadcasts don’t attempt to hide that fact doesn’t change much.

I just wanted to say something positive about it and then walk away. My gf and I had been discussing the blanket coverage, I got home from my date and was going to work on the oil-wars thread or maybe look into some other doom-and-gloom and thought, “nah.” People are having fun with this so good for them. And that’s it from me!

Until I read jjimm’s post…
