The SAG awards are getting a name-change

I don’t know that it was a needed change to “Actor Awards presented by Sag-Aftra”, but I guess it keeps them in the headlines

It may be to attract people who don’t know what SAG (Screen Actors Guild) or AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) stands for. I doubt that many people under 30 would know that.

They really call their award an “Actor”? That right there is their problem. They need a better name for it, so they can in turn use it as a rebrand. Something catchy like “The Verde,” the “Mean Green,” or even “The Patty.”

I was going to say that they’ll probably give it a cutesy nickname in the model of the Emmy, Grammy, Tony, etc. I propose the “Acty”. So lame.
