In these parts (NW Ohio), there is a persistant urban legend of a haunted house “somewhere in Michigan (or Detroit)”, that has 6, or 9, or 7, or 10 floors (depending on who’s recalling the legend). It is allegedly so frightful and terrifying that you receive a refund of your admission if you brave the ordeal and make it through the entire Haunted House without chickening out and begging for egress. The victims of this legendary Haunted House include the beshatten, heart attack victims, as well as people suffering mental breakdowns.
I have been hearing about this Haunted House since the early eighties but nobody seems to know where it is other than vaguely “in Michigan” and they “know a friend of a friend of somebody who went”. I have searched for this haunted house and found nothing. Although, I have found other great and supremely scary haunted Houses in Michigan consequently (Michiganders do know how to do a great Haunt -This Haunted House in Adrian, MI was great when I went last, several years ago.). But this legendary multilevel haunted house remains elusive and seemingly the stuff of myth.
Is there or has there ever been a Haunted House of this repute? Is it just an urban legend amalgam or is it real?
