It is my supposition after much research and lots of clicking that Flamsterette_X is the Kevin Bacon of the Straight Dope boards. Aye there are others with more posts but there are actors with more movies than KB.

So here’s the challenge, prove me wrong. But I’m looking for help in solving these, I can’t be the only one linking these up, otherwise it will take me years.

A few rules:

[li]People who only registered and never posted, or their only post was in a thread never responded too cannot be picked, because obviously, they can’t be linked.[/li]
[li] And you may not use this thread in your tracking or paths.[/li]
[li] When posting your answers use[/li]<Beginning nick> --> <thread name> --> <linking nick> --> <thread name --> … --> Flamsterette_X
[/ul]
As for scoring:
A 1st degree FX is <nick> --> <thread> --> Flamsterette_X
A 2nd degree FX is <nick> --> <thread> --> <nick> --> <thread> --> Flamsterette_X

So to make counting easy: count the number of threads required to make the leap.

Do you honestly think that it’s a good idea to use the bandwidth hogging search engine for this? I guess the Board isn’t slow enough for you.

Can’t we link most people to her just by using the Birthday threads she’s kind enough to start?

That’s pretty much what set me off on this idea, because those give her extensive connectedness. But there are still people who weren’t directly listed.

I’d say that the probability that there is anyone who hasn’t posted in a thread that Flamsteretee_X has posted in is approaching zero.

I’d say the chances of not being able to link any one poster on the board to any other poster within the 2nd degree would be pretty close to zero, as well.
