The SDMB Gun Picture Thread

Here’s my Enfield No. 4

http://www.blackclawgames.com/darkangel/mike/enfield4.jpg

I have a M48 Mauser, and a new FAL as well. No pictures of them yet.

Nice Enfield, Blackclaw. Good choice on the FAL, also. Which build decide you decide on for it?

God. I meant “What build did you decide on for it?”

Chzech SKS.
Beretta Vertec, .40.
Browning Buckmark, .22

That’s all I have right now. I tend to cycle through different guns. Buy one, sell one. The SKS is the most wickedly accurate rifle I have ever owned. I’ve shot other SKSs, but this one must have been made on a really good day.

Am I the only Democrat posting here?

I’m a non-partisan Liberal. (Some would call me a Socialist.)

I vote Libertarian where possible, if anyone cares. I’m not a member of any political party, however.

All AR and AK variants are banned, and many others banned by characteristics and features.

Mucho Info Here

Nope. I’m registered Democrat (usually Green, but CA won’t let me vote in primaries that way. I’m pretty far left.

Sorry, I should have read more carefully your question. Any weapon you owned before the legislation banning it, you could keep, provided you registered it. Unless you are a LEO or some VIP, it is almost impossible AFAIK to get a permit to own one otherwise (unless it is only for a movie prop). And if you get caught, I believe they will prosecute you. Maybe someone will come along with a cite.

It’s an L1A1 Sportster with a Century Arms Receiver, so it’s kind of a “mutt” with both inch and metric parts. But it was the only FAL that I could really afford and with the kits for the gun becoming harder to find, I thought I should get one while I could. I’ve always had a fascination with the FAL, so I’m happy to finally have one.

I found I had taken a picture of it when I first got it.

I later put swapped out the standard dust cover with a weaver mount and added a red dot holographic sight to it. I went down to the basement tonight and snapped an updated pic of it.

I only have one.

A Colt M1911 a1 Manufactured in 1943, and issued to my Grandfather as his service piece, in Africa. Note that the magazine below the pistol has the distinct “Two tone” appearance indicating that it was retempered after original manufacture. That means it was made for WWI, and was probably manufactured in 1917. The other magazine is new.

The pistol is 62 years old, and was never fired in combat, that I know of. It was fired for training during my Grandfather’s service time, which ended shortly after the war. (Well as much training as they make general officers actually do, ya know?) After that it sat on a shelf, and was fired only a few times until this century, when my brother and I inherited it. He let me take it, and for a year or so I fired about fifty rounds a week out of it. Since then, maybe every other month, fifty rounds or so.

There is some obvious wear, and the shot groups at 25 yards are not entirely true. But, I can still put seven out of seven into a pie plate at twenty-five feet. Once I even put a smiley face up at that distance. (Peak of training, obviously.) So, it still works just fine. I have been told that I can get a new barrel and bushing to fix the inaccuracy from wear, but, what the heck, the bushing is not the whole problem. Mostly, the variable is me.

I clean it twice after each use, just like Sarge told me to. Not too much oil, and don’t polish it, son!

I finally got around to taking pictures of mine today:

I didn’t feel like taking pictures of all of my firearms. But here are some pics of my everyday carry gun.

Left Side
Right Side
And here

M4 with M68, PVS14, PEQ2, M600A, and (in the las pic) M9 bayonet. Oh and the Ghetto-Mag 4000. Can’t forget to mention that.

<snerk>

That’s cheating!

.45 HK USP
.40 Glock G22
9mm Beretta M-92FS
“Pre-29” S&W .44 Magnum
7.62mm Armalite AR-10A2

Here’s my humble collection.

Top to bottom:

Remington Model 710 in .270 cal. (New, but I have already used it to take a boar.)

Brazilian Cartridge Company single shot 12 ga. (full choke, it’s an el cheapo, but it’s bizarrely pretty accurate and easy to shoot. Skeet and target mostly now that I have…)

Mossberg 500A 12 ga pump shotgun w/slug barrel. (I have a second barrel for this with a modified choke that is stored at my dad’s house. AKA Bambi-maker.)

New England Firearms single shot .45-70 Govt. (The only one I haven’t shot, yet.)

Connecticut Valley Arms .50 cal Inline muzzleloader. (Counts as a rifle here in PA, but not in MD where I used to live and hunt.)

Hopkins & Allen .45 cal flintlock muzzleloader. (Ever wonder where the term flash in the pan comes from? I don’t.)

Crossman 760 Pumpmaster pellet & B.B. gun. (I have had it since I was 10, got it for Christmas after passing my hunters safety course with a perfect score. It’s my Red Ryder BB gun.)

I know these aren’t guns but they are fun none the less.

he he he. Well, my firearms before I joined the Army were no less impressive.

Of course, I had a pretty cool job back then too.

Pictured here is an MP5SD3, MP5K with 100rnd Beta Mag, and Glock 18 with 33rnd mag. No that wasn’t a conversion, either. It’s a factory Glock 18.

I realize how lame a criterion this is, but I have a slight crush on Bersas just because of the looks. Where are they from and what is their reputation?

Try here for some reviews. Pretty positive from the first few I read.

These are all I have:

Nice collections you all have. Cool.

I’d love to see a civilian version of a P90, better yet, rechamber it for .45ACP and .44RemMag.

Sig!
