That was awesome! I had the chip lead for about the last hour and never looked back. When it got down to the final table, I had a 4:1 lead over the 2nd chipholder. I kinda took it easy at that point, letting players knock each other out until it got down to the final 4. Even with the lead, I thought I was gonna choke by making some bad plays, but I started finding myself with some good hands and I did exploit them every chance I got. The final hand was a blessing in disguise because the board showed a 7 high straight, but with my two cards, I had a flush by the turn card (almost straight flushed!). I checked on the turn and he (marchie) checked. The river completed the board straight, and I went all-in. Marchie thought that I was trying to knock him off the pot with a large bet, so he called thinking he was going to get his half back. Poor guy. He didn’t see it coming…I had an 8 for a higher straight, and an even better hand with the club flush. Marchie was also the same player who almost knocked me out earlier when I was around at 9200 and he sent me down to about 3200 on a bad beat. Revenge is sweet!

I signed up for tonight’s 6:00pm PDT game and will probably also do the 6:30pm game. Got payroll tonight and I’ll need a break.

Gangster Octopus, thanks for the support. We also did a $5 game later that night and I finished 12/39 and GO ALMOST got a piece of it at 6th place! The Dopers here have helped me play better elsewhere, thanks to all of you! I always look forward to playing you guys and shoot the shite. :smiley:

I was a voyeur at last nights 8:30 (or 40? CST) .99c game. Our own Asterion ended 18th. One putz was telling the table his hands. He was called on it, but continued doing it. Moron.

A few things I don’t like about the tourneys at PT:

  1. You can’t pick a specific table to watch.
  2. Damn Bots. In a tourney that’s full, if you’re not at the table at start up you should be booted to allow someone else to play. Like me.
  3. SURPRISE! You’re at a new table! I wish it would announce a table shuffle.

But that’s just me. I did play with the guys this weekend at the cabin - whomped them but good. Since I’m just a grrrl, I wasn’t supposed to be able to bluff and (heaven forbid!) play hard. LilMiss, after watching our tourneys and other ones I’ve played in, dealt like a pro - even heckling my oldest nephew who has so many tells it’s almost sad to play against him.

I know I’m the last person on the planet to take up online poker, but I decided to try it this past weekend. I read a few reviews of different sites and decided to create an account at pokerroom.com. I never received the confirmation e-mail.

But I’m not completely deterred. Have you got room for a newbie this Thursday?

I was so pissed at myself for finishing sixth in that tournament, especially because of the way I went out. All-in with a pair of sixes…what was I thinking?

Ahh! I’m being watched!

That guy must’ve been at the other table. Anyway, for a while I was in the top 10, then I just had some bad luck. Though I will admit I picked a bad time to go all in, but I was getting short stacked and QTs didn’t seem so bad when I tried it preflop. I just wish the hand history showed all the hole cards, because I don’t remember what I got beat with.

Oh, and if you think bots are bad, try playing a PokerRoom freeroll sometime. I have been at tables where more than half of the people were away, sometimes even during the middle of the game. I remember one time nearly 20 people went out while my table was still trying to get going preflop.

Well, it’s Thrusday again, and the itch is back. Will tonight be our biggest pool of players yet?

Will the Duck make a triumphant, suctacular return this week or will he continue to be just another menu item at some small chinese restaurant or better yet, some swank french cuisine establishment?

Will Missy continue to bolster her fashion line of men’s ties made with the scrotums of her male opponents or will it turn out to be just another fad?

Will Nesta be the sneaky little bastard that he is and make an appearance to establish himself as the Elite poker player for 3 straight quarters by eeking out a 1st place win and cruise to victory for the rest of the quarter on just 3 games or will the opponents yank his poker license and credentials?

Will Kyy be just another bridesmaid waiting at the altar of the Church of Poker Gods or will he finally get hitched?

Will Nanook turn up the bitter factor with his rude and grim play and bully the rest of the Dopers into submission, or will the geeks rise up and smack him down?

Will Aholibah break out her riding crop and spank the rest of the field with her stinging style and complete outfit of leather bustier, thigh-high boots, elbow length black gloves and very little else to the imagination…or is there a role reversal in the cards?

Will the Capn resurrect his barnacle encrusted ship, get back on the poop deck, clean out the cannons and start pounding the other opponents, sending them to Davy Jones’ Locker with relentless salvos of all-in betting?

Will Xray continue to risk it all early and collect bad-beats as if they are baseball cards, or will the Law of Averages take over and make him be a force to reckon with? Are the field of opponents risking too much overexposure when taking on X this late in the quarter? Will he be lethal to those trying to secure the silver-plated poker bracelet?

Will the Octopus strangle the field with his cold calculating poker skills or be listed on the same menus with the Duck of Suck?

Can Asterion get hooked up with the Lady Luck or a Lucky Lady? Or both?!?! :wink:

Will *Dag_Botto continue to be an efficient poker playing machine or will the opponents find his Suspend button?

Will the Only Mostly Dead Guy continue to rise up and gnaw on our heels (and other body parts) or will his helpless victims find a way to throw six feet of dirt on his shriveled up ass?

Will Yeticus Rex continue his extremely RUDE play, by breaking taboo after taboo by being the M’Fr that he is, or will his opponents slam down to the ground, cuff him, and send his sorry ass to jail with a plethora of blue laws listed on his rap sheet?

Will fubbleskag find his way onto the table, or will work find a way to table his poker playing plans?

Will Robot Arm get validation or rejection?

The friendly folks at PT are on the case and assure me that the game will be up within the hour. Robot Arm, if you’re able to log in, I need you to send me an email with your PT name and account number (not your password), and I can get you on the approved list, but you have to hurry. They’re not always able to turn that whole adding a player thing around at warp speed.

Except that I can’t deposit any money into my account. I called the issuer of my credit card and they said it won’t work at any locations that handles gambling. (The woman I spoke to on the phone hadn’t heard of this either.) I’m somewhat torn; I appreciate someone looking out for me, but there’s a bit of mind-your-own-business as well. There are a few other options, so I may still make it tonight.

But doesn’t anything work the first time anymore?
