The Second Annual Steelers March To The Super Bowl Thread.

And I didn’t.

10-0 Steelers. Sweating yet, Ellis?

The divisional round is always fun, because you see the teams that fought so hard in WC weekend to keep playing get swept away by the legitimate teams like houseflies.

See what happens when you talk smack during the game? Now it’s 10-3 and the Jets are driving. That’s OK, though. Pittsburgh will win anyway, they’ll just make it interesting.

Steelers defense doesn’t look all that good today, from the perspective of a third-party observer. They aren’t getting to Pennington, oh shit Moss beat them deep on that play, see? and Martin’s getting yards after contact. I’m surprised, honestly; I thought they’d be more impressive than this.

And just like that, the score is tied.

I smell an upset. The Steelers’ offense seems a little out sync and the Jets just gave themself some mo.

Of course, Cowher can still chew some ass at halftime and make some adjustments but the Jets are hanging in there and they shouldn’t be.

The Jets got jobbed on that spike.

Good game so far.

The Steelers offense does indeed look out of sync. It seems like every time Ben throws the ball it’s either short or it has no zip on it. The running game is doing OK, though.

All in all it was a good first half. The Jets needed a punt return to tie it. They still can’t move the ball on the Steelers defense. If the offense gets it together Pittsburgh wins running away. If not they win in a barnburner.

Yeah, it did look that way, but it would have been a 59-yard field goal, so I feel confident that it didn’t really matter.

No they didn’t. Remember that the clock doesn’t stop on the snap, it stops on the spike. By the time he spike it, the clock was dead.

I like your confidence, Airman. This is the first I’ve seen of the Steelers, and except for “The Bus” I don’t know if they look like world champions. They might come out roaring in the second half – I expect they’re still shaking off the rust.

Curtis Martin and Jerome Bettis are both great backs. This could be a good game for a purist, and so far it’s much closer than I expected. But I think my girlfriend is looking for a movie to watch. I’ll have to forego this and the Falcons game so I can watch both games tomorrow (Indy-NE promises to be the best of the weekend).

Except, like I said, they are moving the ball. 118 yards through the air and another 71 on the ground is a freaking fireworks display compared to what the Jets should be doing based on the season. I don’t even like the Jets, and frankly I don’t think they’re very good, but the Steelers have been outplayed since the Polamalu pick.

Yeah, but they have nothing to show for it. When I think of moving the ball, I think of getting it into scoring position. As far as I’m concerned, the Jets can get 400 yards of total offense if they don’t get any points. That’s what I mean about moving the ball.

That was a good defensive recovery by the Steelers after giving up that roughing penalty.

INT.

TD.

The Jets seem to be getting plenty of offense from everyone except their offense. That really was a pretty poor decision by Roethlisberger.

That was an awful throw by Roethlisberger. He looked like a rookie on that play.

The Steelers need to score and get some momentum back.

Ok, time to erase the post I was in the middle of typing out about how sweet a drive Ben was putting together.

Good season guys, thanks for getting my hopes up. :frowning:

Looks like I missed some interesting action while the Girlfriend was watching Sex in the City :frowning:

Yeah, after seeing the replay i should correct my earlier post.

It wasn’t a poor decision, because his receiver was open. It was just a poor throw.

Geez, Bus! Hang on to the damn ball! Ouch…this bodes not well…
