The seven deadly sins

I keep a busy schedule, trying to fit them in.

All of them, on occasion. Who hasn’t? My big ones are Lust and Sloth, though, with a side dish of Pride and Gluttony.

Used to be Wrath, but I’ve mellowed a lot.

I’d like to challenge that gluttony is all about food. I beg to differ.

It has always been my impression that it’spretty much any kind of overindulgence in an ordinarily healthy thing. Eating & drinking come to mind, but if you add gamling you spill over into avarice; skirt-chasing overlaps with lust; physical fitness overlaps pride…etc. What else do you have in mind?

The primary definition is eating and drinking, but if you have a glue-sniffing or booger eating habit that you wish to classify as gluttony, feel free to check the box!

Sloth (I’m pretty lazy), gluttony (I really should eat less, and more healthily), and pride (I probably have too much of it–I’m more than a bit of an elitist).

Probably a bit of envy too, but not enough to bother voting for it.

All 7.

Go big or go home, I say.

Glutton for punishment?

Fame would be a good example, it’s never enough. Anything pursued to excess really. Can’t be thin enough or rich enough.

Seven deadly sins.

Seven days of the week.

Coincidence?

I don’t think so!

sloth and gluttony, I have 'em, I struggle with 'em.

I seem to recall George Carlin talking about the seven deadlies. He figured people would confess to Lust, Gluttony, Envy, etc., but who would ever confess to Sloth? “Hey, guess what some guy confessed to me today!”, would be about the priest’s reaction.

However, I know that Sloth is my biggie, and, according to the above poll, I’m not alone in that.

(My other one is Pride. Oh, yeah! Big time.)

Who are the 4 that don’t experience any of the seven sins?

And is this poll kept private so God wouldn’t find out?

No, I think God is happy we are doing a self examination! Sometimes it can be helpful.

Here are two excellent videos. I am not affiliated in any way with the teacher but he has a nice way of explaining them. The second video by the same man explains how to conquer them by flipping them into something useful. I like his slow and easy manner which is very easy to follow.

The Seven Deadly Sins Explained

The Fruits Of Love And Faith

The Fruits of Love and Faith would be excellent name for a gay-marriage rights organization.

I struggle with wrath occasionally, but I’m doing pretty good.

I am just fine with pride and lust.

I’m seven for seven.

Considering that the attitude of most people here (including me) is “Yay! Go sins go!”, I’m not so sure…

We don’t agree that these are all bad things to be–some are, but we don’t agree on which ones.
