the shelf life of the typical orange...

i have a two week old bushel of oranges in my fridge. i’m sure they will last me a while in there. but in a clean open air enviornment, how long does it take for a fresh orange to rot beyond edibility?

i guess i could go get a fresh orange or two and test out a practical answer to this, but for fun or if anyone has a good general answer or some knowledge on fruit decomposition, i’d like to hear it. thnx.
