No, they’re both really her. I believe she was asked to voice Maggie because they already had her coming in to do “Krusty Gets Cancelled.” I guess they picked “Lisa’s First Word” because it has more emotional impact. A week ago they dedicated “Love is a Many Strangled Thing” to Taylor and used a cell of Maggie in “Lisa’s First Word.”
Lessee, Bart should be thirty years old this year. Lisa 28.
I remember seeing that episode when it first ran 17 years ago. God, I’m old.
Well, if you really want to nitpick, Krusty read the wire report about the Soviets pulling out of the '84 Olympics. But he should have been illiterate at the time (if we are to believe the episode where he gets framed by Sideshow Bob).
Of course, continuity between early episodes of the Simpsons is asking for a lot (and certainly not anything I really want).
I noticed that, too. “Krusty Gets Busted” aired three years earlier and they never paid much attention to that kind of thing - see also the ages of Rod and Todd.
This episode also shows what is supposed to be the first time Homer met Ned Flanders. More recently (in “Dangerous Curves”) they rewrote their past so Homer and Marge met Ned and Maude years earlier. Homer and Marge were dating somewhat seriously and Ned and Maude were newlyweds.
According to ancy Cartwright’s Booy “My Life As a Ten Year Old Boy” what Liz actually recorded was an improv “Fuck You, Daddy.” They edited it.
I noticed that too this episode. :dubious: I always though Rod was Bart’s age and Todd was Lisa’s age, but this episode has Todd apparently the same age as Bart and Todd presumably older.
Right. Todd and Bart seem to be the same age in “Dead Putting Society,” which makes Todd the older one in that episode. I forget which one is older in “Lisa’s First Word,” but whichever one is younger would have to be two or three years older than Lisa. Eventually they settled on Rod being the older one and being the same age as Bart. I guess Todd is still older than Lisa, but not as much as they suggest in this episode.
This is indeed a disturbing universe.
The “future” scenes in Lisa’s Wedding? Yeah, they took place in 2010.
They promised us robot librarians, where are the robot librarians?
