The Sixburgh Steelers March to the Super Bowl Thread

Well, I have noticed Harrison hasn’t been held as much in the past month.

I also noticed he was named Defensive Player of the Month.

Yes, but I’m hoping for the sake of your team and the Bengals that the Ravens did not just wake up and decide they are really a good football team.

I think it’s more a case of the Broncos waking up and realizing they aren’t all that good.

I don’t think the Broncos are as good as their record indicates but I also think the Ravens are better than their’s indicates and will get stronger as the season goes on. The Broncos have a strong defense though there’s no question about that. I’m still not convinced Kyle Orton can keep that ship on track for an entire season.

Looking back at the Steelers season so far I think they look like a 5-2 team regardless of close wins/losses, good/bad officiating, whatever else, their record seems about right. Depth will be important in the latter half of the season and this team has good depth at most positions. An injury to Ben would be catastrophic but the Steelers aren’t the only team in that boat.

Special Teams have to get better though, especially on defense. That’s one of Tomlin’s pet areas so I have confidence we’ll see better coverages following the bye.

The Ravens are certainly better than 4-3, that’s for sure. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them go 11-5. It would surprise me if they win 12 games.

No they are not. They are certainly no better than 4-4.

Yes, I’m back. Forgive me if I get a little soft in the head…I tend to get objective…

So no game until tomorrow night. Which means I’m probably stuck watching the Ravens and Bengals. Probably the Ravens winning is best for Pittsburgh, but man, I have trouble rooting for them.

Hope for a tie!

Tomorrow night’s game is a pretty decent match-up for us. Being down 4 defensive starters is going to be tough though.

An inauspicious start. :frowning:

Alas, I find I am already nodding off. I am doubtful that I will even make half time.

I like the Steelers, but the Broncos are my team. How do I go about talking smack?

No need for smack. Not much hatred for the Broncos amongst Steeler fans I don’t think. If it makes you feel better you could call us a bunch of whiny assholes or something, that seems to be in vogue right now.

There we go! Much better! Nice INT!

Three guys deep every play. Lebeau’s conceding those short passes and hoping we get a chance to jump another one I think. They’re probably thinking Orton won’t be able to keep making good decisions all night.

I spent four years being the lone Broncos fan on a campus full of Steelers (and Eagles, but most of my friends were from western Pennsylvania) fans. I know there’s not a lot of animosity between the fan bases.

Denver’s D came to play. It is going to be a long game.

Ben Roethlisberger is the new John Elway (well, kinda). I can’t speak for other Steelers fans but there have been a lot of Broncos over the years I’ve really enjoyed watching; Terrell Davis, John Elway, D.J. Williams, Champ Bailey to name a few.

Ben Rothlisberger feeds the unborn fetuses of his ill-beggoten children into a liquifier to fuel his Hayabusa…

I’m thinking it’s safe to say that this game will probably be decided by the defenses.

What’s your point? :dubious:

Way to shake off the fumble Ben! That was a nice drive.
