He’s double- or triple-teamed on nearly every play. Space-eating nose tackles just don’t post a lot of sacks, no matter how good they are.
Yeah, I’ve been wAtching Casey Hampton chew up space for a long time. The thing about Ngata though is that they play him at end a lot with Gregg playing a true nose right over the center. Ngata should be able to walk a few guards right straight back more than once or twice a season like he did to Essex and Mendenhall.
No, your guards just suck.
Oh yeah. The truth hurts.
Woodley: Foes want Steelers sidelined
Oh, yeah. That’s the way to get right to it, LaMarr. Everybody’s thinking it, and maybe they’ll take it like the taunt that it is and get pissed off enough that they’ll actually play the games legit instead of quitting.
I doubt it, though. No integrity.
I’m sure New England and Cincinnati are trembling with fear at the idea of playing the team that lost to the Browns.
So, what happened the last time the Steelers were the 6th seed?
'Nuff said.
It really seems to me that many of the Steelers and their fans have presumed a win over the Dolphins. It’s going to be really funny if the Dolphins come out on top.
Let’s put it this way… there’s nothing else to talk about if victory is not presumed. They may lose, that outcome is just as likely. But are there any Ravens fans that are assuming failure? Any Jets fans? Hell, the Jets have the easiest game of the week. They may get the playoffs by default after two weeks in a row of teams quitting on them.
So yeah, I’m assuming victory, because as a Steelers fan going into the last week of the season it might be all I have left. If the Dolphins win I certainly won’t be laughing, but please feel free to indulge yourself. god knows I’ve done enough at everybody else’s expense.
Why do you keep tossing that “no integrity” comment around WRT the Bengals? They’ve won their games fair and square, no cheating, just smashmouth football. Being a fan of a team that was defeated twice by them, I’d think you’d have noticed by now.
Fact is, nobody is scared of the Steelers anymore, and it pisses their fans off, because somehow, we’re just supposed to be scared.
That was a completely different team, year, whatever and you know it. I want the Bengals to play the Steelers again, I really, really do. The fact of the matter is, if the Bengals choose to rest certain starters against the Jets because they may at that time have nothing to play for (since their game was flexed to the late game), then that’s their prerogative. I may not like it, but I can’t change it, and I can assure you it has nothing to do with the Steelers. The Steelers had their chances just like every other team to control their own destiny and they did not. Now they are relying on a lot of things to happen…too bad.
Bitching about other teams not “helping” yours out is pretty poor form. Your team wouldn’t be in this position if, you know, they’d won a couple more games or something.
Plus, it is the March to the Super Bowl thread after all not the March to a reasonable draft pick. We can’t stop rooting for them just because the prospects are bleak.
Polamalu is on the practice field again, that’s a good sign at least.
Or, alternatively, you can read your coaches own words: http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/ohio-news/tomlin-not-lobbying-bengals-patriots-for-help-469323.html
*“I really have no opinion,” Tomlin said. “I trust that those coaches are going to do what they feel is best for their football teams. I’m going to do what’s best for mine. Very rarely do I pass judgment on the decision-making of other coaches in regard to other teams, because I don’t have a pulse on their group.”
Tomlin understands the delicate balance between playing regulars enough to keep them sharp but not enough to get hurt. Last season, Ben Roethlisberger sustained a concussion after Tomlin chose to play him in a meaningless season-ending game against Cleveland.
Luckily for the Steelers, they didn’t play their first playoff game until two weeks later. That gave the quarterback time to heal, and he went on to lead them to a Super Bowl title. But if the Steelers had played as soon as six days after Roethlisberger was hurt, he might not have been ready.*
“This our bed. We’re going to lay in it,” Tomlin said. “We created this situation. What we are going to do is control what we can control, and that’s our preparation of play for the game. We’re not going to cry over spilled milk. If there’s any level of disappointment in terms of how this thing unfolds, it’s going to be on us.”
This is why I like Mike Tomlin as a coach. He’s made mistakes and is going to make more down the road but this is the attitude I want in a Steeler HC.
I see them talking about the game that they and their team will play, not what the other teams are doing.
It’s easy for them to do that, they’re win-and-in.
I happen to think he’s a pretty standup guy, too.
And if he ever gets sick enough to miss a game, they could replace him with Omar Epps and not miss a beat.
BOOOO! Old joke, mister!

I know, but it still amuses me. House made a joke about it one week. Caught me by surprise.
Lamar Woodley is a world-classs tool.
