As a non-American, I tell you, Trump is good for liberals, you’ll do well. On the average, you are richer and more educated than his voters, and also live in growth areas. Trump will probably make his supporters’ life even more miserable, and they deserve that. Sorry for that, I can’t help it.
His ass-ass-i-nation, if it will happen, will be by a deplorable.
On the other hand, we may get fucked. Or not. Who knows.
Oh yeah, Trump is real tough. that’s why he handles things like a real man…
At 3 AM on Twitter, over minor or nonexistent slights that don’t even matter …
Like a god damn whiny little bitch.
Far from it, alas. He will continue to take the money, and simply refuse to give it back. We’ll still have to file and pay our income tax; the fascist elect will cut off funds for schools and hospitals until we comply with his illegal demands.
I don’t agree at all. Sure, we want diversity of ideas here. But we still want them to be intelligent. I don’t think the board benefits at all from low intelligence conservatives who only post about politics and related issues.
Heck, it does a disservice to the liberals, who can easily out think these guys. So we think we’re far better equipped than we really are.
I mean, I guess it’s good for some catharsis. But that’s about it.
I agree. There’s a thousand examples of discussions that never get past a certain right/left conflict point, and this is the result of rightie trolling. IMHO of course. And the points made are just beyond absurd. It’s a buzzkill for thoughtful speech.
I want to take a moment to commend my fellow Dopers for having the good judgement to refrain from any crude, vulgar and juvenile jokes about gay frogs. It shows a maturity that I can freely admire without the slightest intent to emulate.
If any facts or evidence had been shown, it would not have been ignored. All that has been shown is liberal snowflakes whining and howling like broke-dick dogs because they didn’t get their way.
Right – I keep forgetting that it’s impossible to honestly and reasonably disagree with Clothahump – everyone who does so is either stupid or dishonest. Thankfully, you keep reminding us.
Multiple facts have been shown in, for instance, SteveG1’s post #94. You have ignored them entirely, in favor of your frothing fact-free rhetoric about snowflakes and unicorns and rainbows and dogs.
Political “discourse” must be a lot easier the way you do it, with free-floating detachment from all factual detail. But your version produces absolutely nothing of substance.
I think your fundamental mistake is imagining that liberals are somehow responsible for Donald Trump’s election. We’re not. The people who voted for him and otherwise supported him bear that responsibility.
Stop fretting that it’s somehow all on us liberals to manage to achieve “different results”. What’s on us is to keep this venture more or less in touch with reality by reasoned analysis and critique, and supporting valid goals. But it’s not our responsibility to make wilfully stupid and ignorant self-appointed adversaries somehow magically decide not to be wilfully stupid and ignorant.
In the meantime, since you’re back, do you have any responses to the questions I asked you a few posts ago?
Or do you prefer just continuing to sneer vaguely at liberals for “complaining” too much rather than somehow unilaterally making effective solutions appear by some unspecified alternative to “complaining”?
I agree. They are immune to fact, they are immune to cites that contradict them, they are immune to actual documented history, they are immune to logical or reality based discussion, and they are spewing the same brand of horse shit they’ve been spewing for years.
That’s why some of us (meaning me) have been showing a shorter and shorter tolerance and less patience. The deliberateness of it becomes rage inducing after a while. It’s the same clowns every time too.
