Life doesn’t get any better than the next two months - I even have the bartender at my favorite pub conned into putting the Wings game on when I come in, despite the inebriated Orioles fans at the other end of the bar.
…I also have my boss convinced that it really is professional to wear a hockey jersey to work…
Wings in 5 over LA, Pens (my second favorite team) in 6 over the Caps. Sorry boys, you’re my home town team by default, but the coolest person in the world is from Pittsburgh, so I’ve got to support his team.
Way to go Caps! Good win tonight. Jagr held without a shot until 15:27 of the third period and Lemieux held without a shot until … next game, I guess. The Halpern-Dahlen-Konowalchuk line was great. Olie made some big saves when he had to.
that is exactly what i picked in my hockey pool, cept for the sabers, im hoping philly’s gonna win that series… i just found that weird… even down to how many games its gonna take in each seiries…
Sorry but this i must disaggree with. One word; Ottawa. i can freekin hear them from here in calgary during the playoffs. im a flames fan myself, but there’s no denying that Ottawa has the loudest fans out of anywhere.
Did I tell you I won a framed, autographed Steve Yzerman game jersey in a $5 raffle at the Red Wings training camp last fall (which is about 50 miles from my house)?
The sucker is huge, about 4.5 x 4.5 feet.
What do you suppose I could get for that on E-bay? Especially after he slides out of the red and white and directly into the Hall of Fame (Not that he’s anywhere close to being done. Hell, he’s still an elite player.).
What a cool feeling it was when I was announced as the winner. The jersey is now in the middle of my living room wall. (I’m a bachelor, so tackiness is a non-factor. :D)
I must admit that I was surprised by the Caps. Considering the way that they were inconsistant down the stretch they played a solid defensive game. However, Ollie will still have to be close to perfect for the Caps to win. The odds of keeping the Pens shut-out is somewhere between slim and none.
The Caps certainly can’t count on shutting the Pens out, but I don’t think they’ll have to rely entirely on Olie to win. The Pens have a pretty weak defense, though the Caps didn’t exploit it well last night. If the Caps can play their grinding game, they will start converting more scoring opportunities. Wilson is expecting to have the Penguins score, it’s just a matter of not getting into a shootout where the Caps try to play a European finesse game.
And, Falcon, I was disappointed to see you buying into to the curse stuff earlier in the thread, but I’m glad to have you back on board. We’re taking the Pens!
Damn, I hoped I didn’t kill this thread with my support of the Sharks.
Anyways, I’d just like to say that Nabokov was f’ing awesonme today. He completely stoned Tkachuck (sp? I really don’t care) how many times? He owns the Blues
This is the part of the year that I live for! I absolutely love playoff hockey. The intensity, the drive, the desire. It can’t be beat anywhere in professional sports.
Come the finals, reguardless of what teams make it, I shall be calling in sick to work, maybe up to 7 times…
Yeah…god damn Nabby made some awesome saves…but you guys got soooo lucky, we hit the post like 3 times and had a lot more chances, just one mistake by Hill of all people cost us…son of a!!!
